Mine are all windows 7 pro 64 bit and I would like to have remote access to 10 machines over the internet. I just need to be able to restart cgminer, monitor rigs, etc. when I am away and the gpus go dead, etc.
I tried google chrome desktop and it worked for one day and now I can't even access it when I am home.
Also, I suck at and hate networking, so the easier the better. Although if something is really great and secure I am willing to learn.

IPMI or IP/KVM are your best bets, but they require dedicated hardware. But ipmi would really good.
Search on google for vnc for a software solution. Ultravnc for example.

I use tightvnc, install it on all mining rigs, configure each one on their own listening port, then set up port forwards in ur router. Also, if interested, ive written an autoit script that restarts cgminer every n minutes and checks every 30seconds to make sure cgminer is running, if not it will start it. Pm is if that interests u and i can get it to ya =)

Anyone used logmein?
Hells yeah! I vastly prefer LogMeIn over TeamViewer. I use both, when I need someone to work with me on my system I use teamviewer. When I need to work with the system by myself it is logmein all the way. Basically I can set up a constant to allow folks to work on a webserver or other IT things without having to open up my whole system where as with logmein I can pop in and out of all my loaded systems and do what I have to do. Love them both but I like logmein best.

TeamViewer is best free solution Highly recommended +1 Teamviewer is VERY easy use too & works on XP & Win7,not sure if it works with Linux though. It allows complete PC control too,not just specific programs.

Does anyone know if TeamViewer is faster than TightVNC on gigabit lan? I'm currently using TightVNC and it's awfully slow, no settings seem to help it much. Windows Remote Desktop was so fast on the lan that I sometimes forgot I was using a computer remotely. Too bad it doesn't work well when mining.

Anyone using plain SSH? You forward a port in your router to one of the rigs and connect to all others from there. Using no-ip or dyndns with a dynamic IP.

+1 I can use SSH even through my iPod and it gets the job done. No need for fancy software and there are no speed penalties. For Windows you can use Putty (SSH client).

Another voucher here for Logmein. Unless a machine fails outright or (for awhile until I got a landline installed, if the USB wireless froze), it'd allow remote administration or rebooting of a system just fine.

My mining rigs run BAMT and so I have used SSH. I just wish I were better with the linux command line. :/ Its been a trail and error learning experience the past month or so.

I think that is the point of this thread. If you want something simple and will take little effort either logmein or teamviewer for free. If you want something that is light, custom and could take some time to setup the way you want then there are many command line and windows/linux formats you can use for free too. It’s like this, if I want butter I can go and see how the land-o-lakes works out or I can take some cream and churn away. Sure I will know the butter in and out along with any special things like adding some vanilla for a fun taste but at the end of the day I don't care about butter that much I just need some for something I am trying to eat. My deal is that when something is wrong with the rig I want something that will get me in fast and fix the problem fast. I will admit it here first; my name is HDSolar and yes I use an iPhone. There I said it so burn me at the stake now for not having a droid or some Chinese knockoff phone that I programmed to make a call (or text or whatever people prefer over talking on a cell/smart phone now a day). Logmein has a free app for the iPhone that works and when I am at work and really need to get something done fast because I need to be working at work, logmein is there with no questions asked. Teamview is good too but I have my reasons for one over the other as my primary.

My point was going to be that the OP did not state if it was windows or linux, however re-reading his post he does say he is running windows 7. My bad... I used Logmein for a long time and just recently switched to teamviewer. both are great easy to use programs if your trying to connect to different machines behind a router from somewhere else. If you and your machines are on the same local network then I would use UltraVNC/WinVNC.

Just wanted to throw in splashtop as an honorable reference since i saw no one mention it. I use it to control my miner if im at school or just not in the same room as my pc at home Im pretty sure it really only works off of android and it only cost a few bucks on the market but its super easy to use and really very simple. Perfect if you have a tab like me (asus transformer prime )
