Liberland’s leader was detained from his own country while trying to enter the country. The most recent nation on the planet certainly has it's way to put up with the laws.

Creates his own country
Gets arrested stepping foot in it.

That's funny. I don't understand why he was arrested though. How can it be trespassing? Aren't people free to go there? It's just a forest by the sounds of things.

A country is defined by its militia. Learn from Israel.

That's the TRUE question here.

What is it that they are so afraid of that they have to detain this guy? That people may want to join in on his fledgling idea and ditch their sadistic overlords?

Well I suppose that's true, but for every one revolutionary genius there have also been 1000 naive idiots who have no idea what they're doing  Cheesy.

Well I think they're afraid of him creating his own country which is on land that from the looks of things is disputed and two countries claim it as theirs. Maybe to settle the dispute they should give it to a third party but history shows people generally don't want to give 'their' land up.

This was very much expected. And in this case, he almost provoked the Croatians to arrest him.

The Liberland independence declaration has put the Croatian government in a trap. If they claim that Liberland is theirs, then their claim for the larger piece of (currently Serbian administered) land will be voided. If they claim that Liberland is not theirs, then 700 hectares of Croatian land (as recognized by the United Nations) will be seized by some foreigners.

Jedlicka tried to enter Liberland from Croatia, when he should have easily done that from the Serbian side. He tried to show off to the Croats that Liberland is not theirs.

If that is the case, it was a pretty dumb move indeed.

He was released by the judge because no actual borders were crossed. Under law, the judge really had no choice since no laws were broken.

The idea of liberland is great, however it does not need to take any physical form, otherwise you must spend lots of resources to physically protect the land, thus make it economically unfeasible

Rothschild families' biggest achievement lies in that they successfully virtualized their wealth into stocks bonds and debts, circulating around the world, thus become physically invincible from greedy local monarchs. Bitcoin enabled exactly the same thing but has much higher security and international reach

I think the fact that they can go in and arrest this dude who simply just wants his own place and rules to live in is absolutely absurd.

The state of the world is fucking terrible.. And I honestly think more peaceful self governing micro-nations are needed.

Canada has tons of space. And if you go far enough north of the american border there are literally hundreds of thousands of Kilometers of land.
It would be nice to set up my own little nation.. but sadly thats more of a 20 year plan..

Considering that Croatia is a part of the European Union, and thereby being a part of the Schengen Zone, they can't stop him from traveling to Liberland. Jedlicka is a citizen of Czech Republic, and he can travel to Croatia without a Visa. He might be needing a Visa to enter Serbia, as that country is not a part of the EU.

This isn't much more than a demonstration of power. They're just trying to scare the guy I think Cheesy It will probably be enough for him to give up the idea or take Liberland somewhere else.
