I am looking to obtain 20 bitcoins (as well as build some reputation on this forum since I am a new member). Since I am starting with basically no rep, I am willing to do this with smaller transactions (like 5 btc each).

I understand the risks of paypal transactions but I am unsure of a better way to build reputation on these forums.

You can build rep by participating in discussions.  Jumping in and immediately buying/selling/borrowing stuff is just about the best way to establish a bad rep.
