Hey all,

Wanted to take a moment and invite everyone to a hobby project I've been working on called CamGirlNet.com - it's a social network that's intended mostly for the cam girl community, but I want the social networking aspects of it to really be focused on the entire adult entertainment, voyeur, cam girls, strippers, sex, & porn community as a whole.  It also includes a marketplace where I hope webcam models and other adult performers will be able to sell items with relative ease using Bitcoins.

That said, I just wanted to extend an invitation to everyone to help me make sure every thing is working as it should and to help develop some content.

For regular members:

As a member, you basically get a profile/wall page, where you can leave statuses, upload images, share videos, and basically do some of the same things that other social networks allow you to do - except with adult content allowed. And of course, you can "friend" other individuals and keep track of what they're posting and such.

Additionally, you can create or join groups. For instance, maybe you want to create a group for voyeurists and have discussions relating specifically to voyeurism...you can do that. Or maybe you want to create a group just for sharing images of wives and girlfriends...you can do that, too. Or maybe you want to create a group that's invitation only for strippers to share ideas, tips and tricks - you can do that, too. You can even make the group hidden so pesky members who have no business joining the group can't see it.

For web cam models and adult performers

Ultimately, what I want to do with the site is to start generating a user base that makes the site appealing to Cam Girls who want to interact with the community and sell items in our CamGirl Marketplace - although the functionality of the market place could be extended to porn actresses or strippers. The idea behind the marketplace is that Cam Girls can list items up for sale, including physical, shippable items like panties or virtual items like private downloads of movies or photo galleries, and then individuals on our site can purchase those items from them using Bitcoin - we use Coinbase gateway..

I'd tinkered with the idea of letting anyone sell items, but the risks involved of just allowing anyone and everyone sell on the site seemed too great and at this point, I can at least do a basic amount of verification on CamGirls by having them place links on their cam site profile so I know that when they list items, they're the real deal and not just someone trying to scam.

How we handle sales:

As far as payments areg concerned, that's a very important aspect as are big NO, but I wanted theas were dealing with adult content and also have to be accessible to models - many of which prefer avoiding Bitcoin. I'm a big fan of using Bitcoins when it comes to adult transactions, but unfortunately, a lot of people in the industry, such as Cam Girls, aren't interested in learning about Bitcoin or dealing with volatility - so with CamGirlNet, I've attempted to find a middle ground, where on the back end I'm using Bitcoins to keep transaction quick, efficient, adult friendly, private, and cheap, but paying sellers on the site in such a way that they aren't at risk of charge backs or losing value on their sales.

Here's how it works.
- Items on the site can be bought using Bitcoins or a Coinbase account.
-As a Coinbase merchant, once I've received the coins, they're immediately converted to a cash, USD value. This means if someone buys an item for $10, the amount I receive is $10 regardless of what the price of bitcoins might do over any certain period of time.  This also provides a period of escrow.
-Sellers on the site are then required to sign up for a Circle.com account, which basically is a very simplified payment processor that allows them to receive Bitcoins as USD cash and deposit to a bank account. In this way, if a seller is entitled to $10, they'll receive $10 in their account and that balance will always remain $10 on their Circle.com account until they choose to withdraw to a bank account or card.  This is important to models I've talked to who fear volatility.

Using this method, the adult item seller is never at risk of losing money, which is one of the major concerns in the adult industry. In this way, we're also providing extra security to buyers wishing to keep such items off their credit card statement, don't need to release any personal information aside from some sort of shipping address for physical goods, and allowing everyone better profits and pricing.

Typos brought to you by fat thumbs on a cell phone...

Let me know what you think.

How can you get involved? Well, you could sign up, share some porn, create groups, and help me create content.

If you have any questions, just let me know!

I will tell you right now using the coinbase gateway is very bad idea. I would suggest you use a wallet program than a gateway. Look at operation choke point...

I thought OCP was only in regards to issues dealing with Payday loans...I will take your advice though and do some more research.  Edit:  I see what you're saying now.  Back when I originally heard about OCP was on the news and in regards to pay day loans...i see the full list of high risk industries now.

The catch here unfortunately is attempting to keep funds stable.  The main reason the models I've talked to have failed to embrace Bitcoin is almost entirely due to volatility.  This was the solution I thought would work...

Sites like Coinbase and Circle would allow me to eliminate the volatility.  I could easily do a normal Bitcoin wallet but then I'm stuck fronting the risk of huge variations in price while ensuring models get their commissions.

Ideas?

Perhaps I could setup an electrum wallet to forward the funds to a Circle.com account where the funds would be converted instantly to cash?  Is there a way to script this to occur instantly and automatically from the electrum wallet.
