Avatar Auto Crop Feature

I think there should be the feature to auto crop your avatar. Currently, in order to upload an avatar, it has to be a specific size, so people have to crop it manually. I think there should be a feature that crops the photo to the correct size automatically. I've seen this feature in other forums, so it shouldn't be too hard to implement (I could be wrong, I don't make forums)

Auto crop is not a good idea. A better idea is to give us an option to crop but this is also not needed as you can do this in a pic editor and then upload.

Why is it not a good idea? A lot of other forums shrink the image to an appropriate size if it's too big and I think that would be a good feature here.

Yeah I do agree with this feature. People no need to re-size anymore using another tool. Save times for other works

OP suggested 'auto crop' which isn't a good idea but your suggestion, 'auto shrink' is good.

Yes, I also support the idea of 'auto-shrink' .. the crop will ruin the image (avatar) instead the auto resize or shrink can adjust the image (120*80 px).

Its not a very secured thing , But we can use a Javascript plugins just to crop our own
Avatar and then we can may be upload it . but the auto crop won't be really nice ,
we should choose height and width as we want .

Currently we have to upload the image in the provided width and height. So if there is feature with automatic crop or similar like facebook does have, it will be good actually other than manually re-sizing the image.

yeah..i see some full members avatar looking ugly because of metric resolution..
i agree that there should be some auto re-size or crop feature...
