I think it is just for fun.  Seems off mine says a hour and I think it's higher then that, but I could be wrong.

I don't see much of a good reason for it, since we don't use it for anything.

No, not really. It's very likely just a in-built feature of the forum. Isn't really worth anything and serves no purpose. It's not even that accurate either.

Haha. Yeah that thread is silly.

yes, and there are two different threads about post your total time logged in.

I think, beyond the spam aspect, it is a reminder about how precious life time that will never come back you are wasting here instead of doing something useful

And yet, it is one of the most replied topics in the history of the forum. So I guess it does have a value after all.

I think tracking your time in forum is very useful you can see how many minutes, hours and days you just wasted in posting.

mine says 3 hours :-P
Please don't make this thread a copy of one that was already made for tracking total time logged in.
If you want to post about it:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=440555.0

Besides you can easily view everyone's total time logged in. Go to the profile of the desired member and press: Show general statistics for this member.
The statistic isn't really useful especially if you cheat it. Although it could indicate a few things. You could see how many days you've wasted here.
