Agreed. You should have above average intelligence when using an Android. iOs is easier if you just want a phone.

Well on the internet wars often take place on discussions such as iOS vs Android, Intel vs AMD, AMD vs Nvidia and such. People often defend their stance even though they're wrong. Everyone should also be aware that person opinions i.e. subjective ones are useless. Here are some advantages to android: choice of models and pricing, customization (rooting and ROMs), notifications (although this could be subjective), battery life, free choice (i.e. set any app as default), multitasking, file transfer, increased storage (microSD anyone?). Advantages of iOS: friendlier to use, has the applications from Google as well, easier backup & restore, better security and privacy, Siri (anyone).
This is a quick review of the situation, although both have disadvantages that I didn't want to get into. I'm an android guy, just because Apple is a bad company (stockpiling money anyone?). Now if Samsung/Sony/LG would release a phone with iOS that would be something. For now, android is going to be dominating the market.

If you like overpaying, having your hand held, being forced to work inside the box, and aren't concerned with big brother being able to shut down any app or service on your phone at a whim, then iOS is perfect for you.
If you're a sensible, intelligent person the you would use Android.

On which phone if I may ask? Most android phones come with too much unnecessary bloatware ranging from 40-50 (usually) applications. The phones would be much faster if there were less.

Agreed. You should have above average intelligence when using an Android. iOs is easier if you just want a phone. At least with androids you don't have to type in a password every time you download something and you don't have to type a password every time you update and you don't have to give out your credit card number when downloading free apps. And personally, Android is easier to navigate than Apple, with built-in back buttons, and a Play Store that allows navigation to almost any page straight from start-up, not having to scroll through menus.

Without rooting, not really. Well at least not on my S5. There is an option to 'disable' a few of them but that's not the same as uninstalling. Even though that makes things easier when one switches phones, they should have done something else. They should have made a software to backup on a PC. In this case iOS is better, as I've stated already.

I just upgraded to my S6 a couple days ago. There is a program Samsung has created called "Smart Switch". I was in the bar - I hooked my old Samsung phone and new phone up to their Wifi, ran the program on both phones, selected what I wanted to back up (even included my phone and sms logs) and boom! It was automatic and easy and only took about 20 minutes to copy everything over to my new phone. Then it provided install links to each of the apps I had on my old phone. Can iOS do that?

I had not known about this. Well I actually never even looked into this. The app is just amazing and lightweight. Thank you for the share. I doubt that iOS has an app like this. Although it is just a matter of time. These companies have similar ideas of what needs to be done; ideas which aren't that good some of the time.

In this case iOS is better, as I've stated already. Oh, I turned the backup option off in settings>privacy and thought that would be okay. It was, until an OTA (over the air) update came through. A few weeks later, whilst fiddling with phone, I discovered that option I unchecked previously, had "as if by magic" re-checked itself. That was the last straw.

I have both IOS and Android devices and I have to say I much prefer IOS. I like Android but there are a lot of little things about IOS that add up to a smoother experience. It's only now with Lollipop that Android is starting to catch up a bit and I'm talking about stuff that Apple already had like 4 years ago. Also I like the Appstore a lot better than Google Play. Apps never go free on Google Play whereas on the Appstore you get dozens of premium apps everyday that go totally free for short periods of time. Seriously, over the years I've accumulated hundreds of dollars worth of paid apps legally And I believe that's one of the reasons there is so much piracy on Android, because they never give out anything for free.

Apple only allows updates if the phone can handle it, try to put in IOS 7 on an iphone 4. Apple cares about user experience actually. My fathers Samsung is auto updating and becoming slow and un-usable with every update As Steve Jobs said - We dont ship Junk

Doesnt rooting your android void your warranty? It does, if they can find the trace of the root. I'm not sure about the exact procedure now, but there is some counter within the phone. If you manage to reset it, no problems. I prefer Android phones just because you don't have to buy a new one to get a major update lol

There is no auto updating by default, he must have enabled it. People do tend to blame the manufacturer when the phone gets slow with 70+ apps installed and no maintenance ever being done.

Not sure if you are stupid or trolling, both give you root access, check your own linkNow rooting allows you to install custom firmware like cm, which is basically android again, wow Wait, you can do the same on iphone too - http://www.whited00r.com/features?lang=en&install=1Have played with a lot of ROMS and they are nothing but glitchy hobby projects except cm Overclocking your processor? lulz, have an overclocked [To the limit of frying] dual core android phone and it sucks balls of my dual core iphone. You can overclock the A4 32 bit architecture though - http://www.skipser.com/p/2/p/how-to-overclock-iphone.html But IOS is so optimized for the hardware it does not need tweaking, it never lags if you dont install newer firmware on stone age iphone Unless the people commenting havent played with both the Softwares and Hardwares, this debate will be stupid

Please, stop with the favoring of iOS and Apple. Everyone knows that root -> jailbreak (although the other article might have exaggerated things.

You can overclock the A4 32 bit architecture though - http://www.skipser.com/p/2/p/how-to-overclock-iphone.html But IOS is so optimized for the hardware it does not need tweaking, it never lags if you dont install newer firmware on stone age iphone Unless the people commenting havent played with both the Softwares and Hardwares, this debate will be stupidI think we've got our terminology wires a little crossed here. When I speak of jailbreaking I mean what some people do to their iThingy devices to give them more control. When I speak of rooting I mean what some people do their Android devices to give them more control. I wasn't referring to actual privilege escalation (administration root user), which obviously both do, as they wouldn't be able to do the stuff only the normal user can do. Changing the subject, I never actually rooted my Android before I installed CyanogenMod. All I did was unlock the phone bootloader, then overwrite recovery and system with the new OS. I'm guessing that could be done on iPhones as well, not sure.

i like android stuff as because they are easy to use and we can modify them as we like..but in ipones if a modification goes wrong then its much expensive to get it back
