I'm surprised to see no talk around here of the recent 'CryptoParty' phenomenon which has been spreading largely via Twitter.

see 'CryptoParty goes viral': http://www.scmagazine.com.au/News/314275,cryptoparty-goes-viral.aspx

Recently I attended the Sydney CryptoParty, which mainly discussed Tor & GPG - but I did chat to a couple of people who had heard of Bitcoin but didn't really know much about it.  It seems like it would be the sort of crowd which would be interested in Bitcoin presentations and discussions.

Mat Holroyd (Founder of BitPiggy - https://twitter.com/matholroyd)  has produced some preliminary notes for a talk on Bitcoin at the next Melbourne CryptoParty
http://matholroyd.com/post/30983468021/preliminary-notes-for-my-intro-to-bitcoin-talk-for

I encourage all you bitcoiners to get along to a CryptoParty in your city, or start one up if necessary!

cool idea

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.
Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.
