Most of the network still needs to update to the new version.  I just checked my client and i have 10 connections but only two connections that are on the new version.   Masternodes will work when 75% of the network has upgraded.

Great to see you back dev but it doesn't seem like much has changed.  I even did the addnode.  Had the new wallet open for the past 10 minutes, still 0 connections.  Don't see why bittrex would add now as this hardly qualifies as the working wallet they wanted.
