well of course everyone is just looking to his own portfolio, they encourage others to not dealing with that particular coin, because they want it all for themselves

i think this is the reason for all that screaming in every thread, or maybe they just want to make some lulz post...

Most of ICO , IPO coins are to make big money off of it! And post people sy this so less people buy first and then they get it for cheap , later on they sell it and then make easy profit.
I myself keep a look on for ICO's and try to get in anonymously if i can Wink

very easy for dev to printing money in ICO

like EKN i see more potensial and very nice publishing before ICO, white paper is good too
and now rate down
I think ICO is better for short trade or flash trade

Of course it is a scam, and if you profit, you do so by scamming others.
Plus everytime people buy into scams they invite new scammers.

Its not about stealing a little BTC off another trader just because you know its a scam. All these scams screw the new people because they dont understand as well, then they leave. crypto dies. If crypto dies we all lose but if crypto wins we can all win. Dont participate in the scams because you are perpetuating that behaviour and saying it is okay to do. Vote with your satoshis, say no to scamcoins.

Its a pump and dump game and soon to be illegal since it hurts other investors. I just wonder if they will go after the ICO creators after the law is passed. All it would take is a court order to Theymos to release the IP addresses of certain users. I'm sure he would be happy to comply. Then cooperation from friendly countries where these people reside. As for as unfriendly countries, like Russia and China, a simple message to their versions of FinCEN may be enough to get these people arrested. Since Bitcoin is banned in those counties I'm sure that the authorities would go after them. After all, thats what they do.

Sure would be nice to have the mainstream news talking about altcoins and bitcoin and how authorities arrested scammers across the globe. That alone would attract investors.

The future is bright for crypto.

You can get profit from selling drugs to kids but it doesn't mean you should do it, but if you want to take the risk go ahead. I guess the only people who get burnt by scam coins are the people who willingly put their own money into them so there's no one else to blame.

I don't think many people  put their money into ICO's these days. Compared to last year, ICO investment has declined which is good, as it doesn't risk people being scamming. Most of the ICO's are still scam, and the only intelligent investment you can make is by understanding the coin. Just investing in a coin without understanding its technical specifications isn't a good strategy.

Even if you're making profit; Yes it's still scam.
It can be explained with the "Greater fool theory". (check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_fool_theory )
That's why there're lots of hypes, fuds etc on those topics.
If you don't know what you're doing just stay away all of those.

Those who purchased Rimbit via Indiegogo should be demanding a refund from their credit card company now, because the campaign violated Indiegogo's Terms of Service on Prohibited Perks, thus the tokens will now be scorned and worthless.

This $150,806 loss for Indiegogo and huge number of chargebacks jeopardizing their merchant account relationship with the credit card companies, will hopefully incentivize Indiegogo to take legal action against Marcelo Karlsson. Hopefully they will also report him to the SEC so they can hopefully begin an investigation into the investments scams in crypto currency.

I have an inkling this smallish scam may be the one that ignites the fire that brings down the entire ICO altcoin ecosystem.

Edit: the SEC has recently warned about those who are getting involved in these crypto-currency scams and I hope Indiegogo takes the SEC warning seriously.

Well sure, what's the problem with walking into a liquor store, blowing the owner's head off and walking away with the cash register as long as I profit from it? I suppose that's the underlying principle of ethics.

I never want to deceive people to have money. Money is important but it can not control my life and my personality.
I want to be a billionaire, but I will fulfill that dream with my integrity, honesty and talent. If I succeed, I will invest in education to reduce the selfish, cheat others to have money. Earning money with fraud will not bring happiness and it will only make your country decadent!

in my opinion, of course the people affected by the scam, scam good coin or a scam or other bounty. No doubt will feel upset, because of his efforts, or even his money must eventually forfeited and no results. The scam is also the thing that seems to be hard to avoid.
