Don't create any "Free Bitcoins" post here. There is a dedicated sub-board for these called Micro Earnings. You can ask questions like "Where to get free bitcoins?", "Any free bitcoin sites?" etc... and discuss about these sites in that board.

I advice you to understand the risks involved in free Bitcoin sites before using them. There is an excellent EDU by shorena: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1044399.0.

Happy earning!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Would be great if this was read by all.  Beginner forum is filled with people trying to get new people to be a referral, or try to get them to use a faucet they are linked to , etc.

They are moved to micro earnings for most part.    But it's just hard with the amount.  A lot see it as "free" money which btc is not.

Well actually if its really free bitcoins it should go to games and rounds since it would esentially be a giveaway and if its not micro earnings it should be discussed in the service discussion section. I think thats how it should be

If a person in the Beginner forum posts a link with a referral code, simply click the "Report to Moderator" link at the lower left and report it for spam.  I find they get removed very quickly.

i don't think they will follow the details given in this thread. especially as it is most likely the first post when asking about free bitcoins. perhaps when creating a new account you will get a pm from the system with most important forum rules. that might help.

I recommend contacting a moderator or posting in meta. You are right on this particular matter and I agree with you, however a lot of people won't see this thread.
After some time it will just get buried in the section and bumping it all the time would be pointless.
The thread should be sticky so it is visible by default in the section.

Well faucets are designed for beginners so its normal that there are so many here and it doesnt really mislead anyone since it is free money, faucets tell you exactly what you can win and when you can claim, no one is misleading anyone there.

Agreed MZ...
They should try watching the stickies, I think this thread should be made a sticky so that newbies and beginners watch out before posting faucets, and even new faucet owners too...

i think it would be a good idea to put the link to Micro Earnings as one of the stickied post on top or at least in "Other Information" part of "NEWBIE README" since a lot of new members are looking for faucets and free money and  Service Announcements section is a bit far for a newbie.

The problem is people are trying to get referrals.   Look at Beginners thread.   Sadly 1/5 of it or so is dealing with "free" or "win up to" stuff.

I liked it better when new people could come ask questions and it was there.  But lately so many are in it to gain a referral a lot of spam with faucets, rotators, etc is shared in this thread.

but how we can say they are really newbies?  When it is easy to make a new alt account.  Who can say I am a newbie evading a ban?

all these questions must be asked, a true newbie will browse around and read and learn.

I understand what you're trying to proove but here, I mean 'Newbie' by telling 'newbies'.

You can get some ideas about book and/or author by looking it's cover.

I know Muhammed Zakir has good intentions and a good ideas on this.  If you use statistics a lot of the ones who do this is "new" accounts as they have nothing to lose if temp banned for referral/ponzi stuff.

A lot is posted by "new" account's it just is a fact.  There are some that are not.   But all the free bitcoin, faucet, etc really belong in micro earnings not in beginner thread trying to get referrals.
