Hey Guys! Since summer is at the door, I decided to try a new setup. Since heat go up, I decided to try a vertical setup. I went front that : To that: Let me know what you think about that and if you have any idea or advertise. So far the temp seems to be similar. Will check if there is any update tomorrow. Valkir

Valkir I really like the vertical setup in this case. You managed to make it look much more clean, looks great. Please do let us know on temps what happens I would be interested to know what happens going from horizontal to vertical.

A decent amount of whole house fans have that shape. But they get pretty pricy.
I would guess going to hardware store to get shroud and finding a good fan to put it around will be a lot cheaper then those.

Ive been thinking as far as "cheapest" way to achieve that. I'm sure you looked and whole house units would be perfect but pricy.
Go to a hardware store ad find a shroud that you like the size of. Find out how many inches the duct work is. With that you can buy a inline fan.
So it would go Shourd - A little duct work - inline fan - a little duct work. The inline fan would be pulling air in and then pushing it through rest of duct work.

Yeah I will go to a home depot or something like that. Wondering if I will find. If you find something let me know. Something like 6 foot X 12 foot

Far cleaner looking setup in the vertical configuration. The hood for evacuating the heat is a good idea, too.

Thanks So far the temps seems similar. But cant confirm since the temp outside seems to be a little bit higher. Will see with the hood if the temp drop.

Right now the S5 is 1 degre lower in vertical position. Im wondering if adding 2 side panel could help the temp.
I got 2 delta fan to reduce the sound.

I would look to moving them other way round sit on the sides on ant miners and have a push pull config on the fans, install another fan on the opposite end. Silent or delta like currently on. Maybe look to getting a bigger unit to house the mining equipment in as that is one tight space for all that equipment to be on.

Right now I will test the vertical way. And I cant move them away since this is the only place I have right now. Will probably look to shut down 1 or 2 S3. Will see...

I would look to maybe re ordering the units on it. Is just a matter of getting positions the right way and to see what works best on it. Maybe have the unit located in a different position of the room or is this the only location that is free within the room. Maybe get some fans in and channel the air around the room too.

You could do or get soem Y shape unit thats 2 to 1 ratio like 2 into 1 blowing hot air out you could channel it into a septate room in house or into the bathroom and have it as a open air dry room do a nice 2 in one use heat to dry other stuff or to get rid full Y shape heat protected piping that vents outside.

snip on pictures
Looks very impressive! How many hours of printing is it for that? Please take pictures after I think I will be blown away, that is a very awesome idea to get 4 miners into one exhaust tube.

Around 7h per piece so around 28hours. Problem right now is one of my motor die on my 3D printer. Will have to buy a new one before finishing it. I will post picture when done.

I built something very similar with parts from Home Depot and an in-line duct fan I got from amazon.com. The whole thing cost under $100. One thing to be aware of though, if you are blowing air out, it has to be coming in from somewhere as well. A good cool air intake system is very important or else you may end up heating the rest of your house just as much as you are cooling your mining area.

One of the things I had to do to achieve a slightly better temperature was putting it vertical, too. Though mine is inverted. Fan is pointing down. Go figure OgNasty, I am interested in doing something somewhat close to what you wrote. Can you please post a picture your rig? Thanks

Yeah I will also like to see the piece you bought. Since 7h is pretty long for 100$ I may go to home depot.
