So if the Volume equates to more than the BTC mined per day, does that mean we can put to bed the idea of the market having to soak up 3600 coins a day?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Looks like a big seller, most likely KNC, sat right at 9.73/XBT all day on the ask.  Which pretty much capped the price.  Interesting why they wouldn't try to get some sort of BTC premium like GBTC was getting.

Perhaps because arbitrage is possible with these notes, but not with BIT shares?

Academic interest in bitcoin only. Not owner, not trader, very skeptical of its longterm success.

The ETN is supposed to track the value of the underlying asset (Bitcoin).

I tried it today...

XBT Provider ETN is live and listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm as of today.

I just bought me a Bitcoin, via my brokerage account,
with one click, with no signup, with no delay.

Cheesy Shocked Grin

Pretty sweet.

200 shares of XBT tracker ≈ one Bitcoin.

Some of the best things about this:

There's no hassle and worry about security.

It's instant.

It tracks the price faithfully.

I'd say this is easily the best way to get exposure to Bitcoin.

So, yeah. I'll definitely recommend this to people.

The only "bad" thing is... The Winklewii got scooped. Again. Cheesy

It tracks the price faithfully.

Well, minus the fee (2.5 %/year, compounded).

It tracks the price faithfully.

Well, minus the fee (2.5 %/year, compounded).

It's still a good trade-off for anyone who values their time.

No worrying about getting a dedicated computer & paperwallet & setting up m-of-n keys, in multiple physical locations.

The most important thing is to get in before 21. Inc starts shipping hardware wallets in millions of Qualcomm and Intel consumer devices.

I cried about 10-15% fees when Bitcoin was trading in the single digits.

At the bottom of the hype cycle.

But I got in. And it turns out the most important thing was getting in.

Getting Bitcoins was hard. Still is. Most people used to give up somewhere along the way.

This open the door for millions of people. Bitcoin exposure with a click.

The significance of the XBT Provider ETN will only become apparent with time.

It's a liquidity sink. Draining supply out of the market. And Bitcoins are scarce. So...

Stolfi, you should should get some. Smiley

here is the 20% of all mining quote before the 16nm tape out was announced...will continue to look for the other interview where he "up'd' the stakes to 40%
with the big IPO infux of $$$ this last spring

http://bitcoinist.net/knc-miners-announces-20mw-data-center-near-the-arctic-circle-after-turning-backs-on-their-customers/

again this was for the 1st round of IPO

http://www.moneyweb.co.za/uncategorized/bitcoin-miner-ditches-clients-to-chase-2bn-coding/

I"m sure someplace they up'd it for the 2nd round most recent IPO that is where I heard the 40% figure as the next goal

will continue to look ...maybe it was a 'translated from Swedish page' ah well good to have a goal

So why are you repeating the 40%-thing, when he said 20%?

the 20% was the 1st level round of IPO money

the 40% was quoted after the last round of IPO money..the bigger 2nd round of IPO money

now not sure if KNC is gonna cloud host anymore..but I'll find the link it was an interview
is what I remember and was a result of what bitfury wanted to control and Sam Cole
said this in the interview...

anyway will finally have the goal of looking thru my bookmarks I never sort to find this

unless it disappeared with the knc forum and cloud mining pages

whatever KNC is determined to have a piece of pie in a lot

wallets
cloud hosting
IPO of 20% or more of bitcoin mining
the new stock traded on swedish stock exhchange mostly backed by KNC money
further IPO development $$$ for next gen after 16nm data halls

anyway I'll dig it up if it still is out there as an interview...I just can't remember if
it was translated or not and/or if it included cloud hashing (which may not even be an option of the IPO anymore)

anyway old Sam Cole and KNC seems to not be in any kind of trouble of any kind bitcoin wise.....heh Smiley

So why are you repeating the 40%-thing, when he said 20%?

the 20% was the 1st level round of IPO money

the 40% was quoted after the last round of IPO money..the bigger 2nd round of IPO money

Well, as an investor I'm interested in facts, not made-up statements, so a reference/source of some kind would be appreciated, otherwise I'd say you're just trolling. And in any case; all large miners have goals, that doesn't mean they can just "switch on" any desirable hashrate, it's a race - remember.
