So maybe we should've seen this one coming considering somebody recorded the details of their marriage on the Blockchain. Bitcoin wedding rings!

I have seen this before. It was not supposed to be a wedding ring, just another standard ring. Also, the reason people like jewelry is because it's valuable by itself. If you can just print yourself another wedding ring, then what was so special about it in the first place?

I don't like the shape I thought it would be a ring with a round Bitcoin logo on the top of it, or maybe just some text related to bitcoin around the ring.

That's what I'm talking about, I love the model in that site. No wonder, it's funded by Kickstarter so it must be a great stuff

It looks like a plastic piece of tat you would get out of a gumball machine. If you offered a plastic wedding ring to your prospective wife and said "will you marry me" she would probably refuse. No self respecting woman would be seen wearing a plastic wedding ring.

Your right, it looks like the icing they write stuff on cakes with, yum. Anyone else try scan the QR code, didn't work for me, probably need a straight shot of the ring.

That paint looks pretty goobery, I seriously doubt a straight on shot would help anyone read it. I like the idea for jewelry, however I would want to see better quality workmanship. It wouldn't need to even be gold. An attractive metal like copper could be used.

A ring with a slot to save the private key would work just as well. I don't know what to make of this particular ring.

in my own opinion, rings like this should be made like a tech geek tool rather than a formal wedding ring

Not everyone like the QR code in a wedding ring. In my opinion, it's really ugly, if i use such ring to propose my wife, i may be refused. BTW, she is not a bitcoin fans.

this look vastly better, and i could see it used more then the one in the OP, but maybe reduce the qr code a bit, or it would cover too much the ring

Engagement rings should be nice to look at, not be a monstrocity.

You could have two seperate rings.. The one has the QR Code for the Bitcoin Address and the other the QR code for the private key. The Passphrase could be something only you and your partner knows. So the story goes.... Both of you contribute monthly to this Bitcoin address to save up for a 10 or 20 year anniversary gift or holiday or a second honeymoon. When you have these rings made, nobody knows the Passphrase, so it should be relatively safe. Sounds like a good idea.

You don't understand. The ring was never meant to be a wedding ring. It's just that somebody thought it would be a cool idea to call it so.

how many women are there to use Bitcoin? A bride who is keen on bitcoin may feel excited as seeing this, no matter what shape of this ring.

Most women get excited with things of value, diamonds for example. However, in this case, judging by the OP picture, I doubt any woman would wear that ugly thing.
