I have noticed that a lot of people from India are trying to get closer relations. Maybe it is the good time to create a new sub forum in the local bord for India people?

All levity aside... considering how many new computers there are in India, with the TON of IT and Telephone Support outsourcing, you would think that the new generation there would be into something like Bitcoin, jumping in with both feet ?

Being from India, I would love this.
I know a couple of people in India who are on the fence when it comes to bitcoins just because they don't know how they would sell it when they wanted to. Not a lot of avenues to sell bitcoins in India. A dedicated subforum would help build a better community and boost transactions.

I personally would love to see a more countries added to the local sub forums. I feel that providing this will help to enable more promotion, local trade and local discussion in countries where bitcoin isn't as well known. Aren't those the reasons why forum communities should exist?
I requested Greek because of the financial crisis there and I got a lot of +1's but the request was ignored. Mods?
Good luck.

Why a country as big as India still doesn't have an exchange?

India has a huge pool of freelancers, programmers, designers, translators etc, they use Paypal a lot to get their payments, why can't they use Bitcoin instead?

Are the local subforum based on location or language?
Perhaps you could start a thread in the "Meetups" subforum about people in India?

Altho i'm not against it i'm not sure if a separation would be wise. With india i would susspect that bicoin may at some point become popular as a real currency. When that happens a lot of naive and uneducated people will enter the scene. I'm not sure they should be left to be eaten by the wolfs. Because of the language barrier that would most definitely emerge i fear that the subforum would quickly become a safe place for scammers to seek out their prey, much more so than this forum in general. At least untill it has sufficient ammounts of experienced people that can guide the rest. But im not from India and i wonder what you Indian people think of this.

I am from Tamilnadu, India & I encourage to have a sub forum. The reason for not much coordination on Bitcoin awareness is due to different language people living in different part of India.
The uniqueness of India "Unity in diversity", some what restricts coordination due to different languages. So, it will take some time.

How would people from India communicate in an India section? English?

Only have to use English, even though its not a Indian language. Coz every state people uses their own language. Even though Hindi is official language, other languages also official to use, like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam.......
If have to use ONE language to connect all Indians , then only English can do that. English also official language in India.

I'm a firm believer in appointing one or two local moderators who are from the localisation country and speak both languages well. (that language, and english)

Now that we have an Indian subforum, what are the rules? Are people allowed to post only in English, or Hindi, or can they use any of the many Indian languages?

No need for rules until it gets bigger.
