Citi: UK Government Should Create Own Digital Currency

Citi has told the UK government it should consider creating its own digital currency, a newly obtained document has revealed.

The document, a response to the Treasury’s call for information on digital currency, was obtained by CoinDesk via a Freedom of Information request.

Or, they can just use the godfather of digital currencies (bitcoin) instead of starting from scratch. This will surely leave plenty of extra money available to spend elsewhere, or dare I say, give their citizens a tax cut.
