[ANN][WTS] Brand new line of Physical Coins! SERIES 1, SOLD OUT!!!

I’m proud to announce the sale of my first series of physical coins…..Genesis Coin
-   The idea: I was looking for coins, other than the more well known coins (i.e. Bitcoin, Litecoin, etc.) and saw that there weren’t many choices out there if any at all. There are many companies minting physical Bitcoins and I did not want to add just another choice for people. So I went out and created a brand new line of coins to compliment the current market.  So what I am bringing to the market is a line of coins, which I call Genesis Coin, which in my first series of coins will represent 12 different coins with a total production run of 300.  
-   Coins and mintage:  As I’ve stated there are a total of 300 coins in Series 1 of my line spread across 12 different crypto coins, as follows (Coin and total amount minted):
Bitcoin - 10
Litecoin - 10
Dogecoin – 10
Coin2 – 30
Hyper – 30
Peercoin – 30
Namecoin – 30
ShadowCash – 30
DNotes – 30
Darkcoin – 30
Reddcoin – 30
Clams – 30
-   Coin Design: Because of the large cost to minting a short run of coins, each coin will have the same generic design.  The design on side one – will have the word Genesis right in the middle, with a circle surrounding the word.  On top of Genesis will be six dates and below will be six dates.  Each one of those dates corresponds to the genesis block creation date for each one of the 12 coins in series one.  On the outside rim will be the names of all 12 coins represented.  On the bottom right will be the date 2015 to correspond to the mint date.  Opposite on the left side will be a serialized engraving of the number coin it is.  And on the bottom center will be the coin’s name that it is engraved into the coin.  On side 2 will be a full address on the top rim that will be specific to the coin that is engraved on side one.  In the center will be a security sticker in a recessed area that will cover the printout of the full security key that pairs with the address engraved above it.  The security sticker has my companys name that lights up under UV lighting. The coin is 1.5” in diameter and is made from copper/brass alloy.  Each coin will be serialized 1-10 or 1-30 depending on which coin you get.  Every coin serialized 1-10 will be gold plated (for all 12 coins), and every coin serialized 11-30 will be silver plated (for the 9 coins excluding; Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin as they only have 10 each produced).  There will be black accents throughout the coin for contrast from the silver or gold plating.  So yes there are only ‘10’ Genesis Series 1 Bitcoins that will be produced.  Again I’m looking to compliment the current market.
-   THE TWIST……
-   Distribution:  So as an avid collector of many things throughout my life, I wanted to change the current distribution method of attaining these coins.  As a kid I grew up collecting sports cards, buying many, many packs of cards to try to get the cards/players that I wanted.  So what I have chosen to do was to employ the same type of distribution method.  For every coin serialized 1-15 and 26-30 will be packaged up into “packs” and for the coins serialized 16-25 they will be available for direct sale.  Each coin headed into packs, has been put into a non-see through white package and a Genesis sticker placed on the front of the package,  everyone of them packaged the same.  So what that means is that the Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoins are only attainable via buying a pack and landing the coin.  The other coins will each have 10 available for sale and the other 20 placed into packs as well.  So for Series one there will be 85 coins directly for sale and 210 “packs” available for sale.  That leaves 5 unaccounted for; 1 I will be shipping off a pack to a member here at BCT, Elianite, for his review.  It will be a non premium coin (coins serialized only to 10).  The other 4 I am keeping for my own collection, again none of them are premium coins (Bitcoin, Litecoin, etc.).  I will be keeping 1 of each- Coin2, Hyper, Darkcoin, and Reddcoin.  Every coin individually for sale and in the packs will be placed in a plastic coin capsule.
-   Sale method:  I will be selling these exclusively here on Bitcointalk.org for the first month and then, whatever coins are left for sale, I will open up to other sale avenues.
-   Payment:  I will ONLY accept Bitcoin as of this time.  I will not accept Paypal under any circumstance, (learned the hard way they don’t like anything to do with digital currencies).  Hopefully in the near future I will accept other coins, but not as of now.
-   Preorder: None.  Coins are minted, in hand, packaged and ready to ship.
-   Shipping:  I will be shipping from The United States in New Jersey.  I will be using USPS for all sales.  For shipping within the lower 48 states, tracked shipping will be $6, and most international shipping will be $16 using tracked registered USPS mail (please pm me with the country you would like them shipped to, to confirm).  Those quotes are for 1 coin or pack.  For multiple coins or packs please pm me for a quote.  I will be making shipments every Wednesday and Saturday.
-   Escrow: Of Course, We can discuss who will provide escrow services, but ultimately I will have to approve and will only utilize a reputable escrow service from a member here on bitcointalk who has provided multiple transactions without issues (i.e. OGNasty).
-   Terms of Service:  All sales are final and before purchasing understand this.  As with any coins that have been made, there is a possibility of counterfeits that pop up.  I cannot be responsible for anyone purchasing Genesis coins from anyone other than myself, unless I approve them as a reseller.  
-   Disclaimer: There are a couple of known manufacturing errors that were discovered after receipt and my verification process:
o   3 coins (Bitcoin ser #2, Coin2 ser #2 and Peercoin ser #9) have the serial number and their name engraved upside down
o   All Shadowcash coins ser# 1-30 have been engraved with the name Shadowcoin instead of ShadowCash

I told myself, for my series #1, if there are any discrepancies (other than address) that are minted wrong that I will be keeping them as is.  I wanted a true representation of the first set of my coins.  With my future series, these will be sent back for rework prior to release.  It was more than I thought would come out, but it is what it is, and I’m sticking with the true first mint as is.

Lol...yeah lots of info.  My coins are fully minted, packaged and ready for sale.  No preorders.  I have been working on these the last 2 months and this is the very first post I mentioned them in.  Will hoppefully get a full line of pics up of the coins tonight.  If not it will have to be tomorrow.

This is an interesting distribution idea, although I don't see what's wrong with just auctioning off the lower coin numbers from each series.
The coins themselves look pretty nice, but I think that if they'd had a custom made hologram, it would have added that little extra spark adding to the appeal.

I 100% agree with you about a custom holo.  With this being a new kind of way to sell coins I wanted to guage the interest of the community before I went knee deep cost wise.  A custom security sticker costs thousands of dollars to make on top of actual coin, packaging, etc  I did not want to sink so far into costs that I would have to either do a presale or make the price too high.  For my first couple of series I wanted to keep cost low for the buyer.  I am solo on this project but if there turns out to be an interest in this model I plan on designing and buying custom holograms, using precious metals, etc for future series of genesis coins.  As far as auctioning off the lower serial number coins, I wanted to put a "lucky" aspect to the distribution of these coins.

BTW- the holos that are on these coins are semi-custom.  They do have a generic sticker but had my company printed on them that glows under UV lighting (design is similar to the sticker in the pack shown in the pictures)

I understand your concern.  When I started this project it was started with the intention to bring more altcoins that are available in the physical market.  There are a long list of manufacturers of bitcoin, litecoins, and the other big coins.  I didnt want to add to that market but rather create a new one.  I dont support each and everyone of these altcoins but the are a part of crypto history and wanted a way to creatively document that.  Also if one of these altcoins grab hold and become bigger than they currently are you will have the opportunity to own one of the first "memorabilia" of that coin.  As far as distribution I wanted to add a bit more collectability.  It might not be perfect or even a good way of going about doing it.  That is why my first series was made with the intent to test the market and the response.  This may very well be the last time i distribute my couns this way, maybe not.  As far as the low mintage of the more popular coins i wanted to add them into packs to give the opportunity to grab a scarce coin and incentivize the buyer to go for the packs.  And then they could also directly buy what they might be missing.  I just know for series one if you wanted to make a complete set of coins it will be really hard and you might be the only one to have a complete set.  I just dont know if the market is there with me.  Sorry for the long posts.  I just want to make sure my ideas and intentions are clear so everyone can make the best possible choice if they like the idea or not.  As always thanks for your interest in my project.

For series 1 the only difference between the coins is the coin name engraved at the bottom and obviously the address corresponding to that specific coin.  Its pretty generic as I wanted to keep costs to a minimum so I did not have to pass on a huge price to the consumer, the more custom each coin is, the cost goes up greatly.  I have a new found respect for all coin producers out there as its a lot of work and there are costs that you dont even think about that pop up.  There will be additional features to future coins if the market dictates for it.

I know this is the issue.  I wanted to make the bit, lite and doge a bonus on top of the other coins that would be available.  I myself am a bitcoin coin hoarder, but didn't want to compete with the other current manufacturers.  Once the market gets flooded, and it will, people will start getting tired of just buying the next companies coins (well I will keep buying any that come out..lol).  This distribution plan could change and this might be the only one of my series to have such a limited run and a very hard to attain bitcoin.  Dont know how this will all shake out but we will see.  I wanted to change things up a bit and maybe it will work and maybe not.

 As far as reselling the ones you dont want, I could actually see people (who are familkiar with each other here) possibly swapping coins they might have dups of, or yes selling them off to other people.  Thanks for your interest in my project either way.

I thought the idea sounded cool and for $15 I rolled the dice and bought a pack last night before even seeing pictures! I thought about just buying a single Darkcoin, or Clamcoin (to send my Just-Dice winnings to), but decided to go for a random pack in hopes of getting a BTC, LTC, or DOGE. As mentioned, we can always trade/sell other coins as needed. I do like how each coin has the full address engraved on it.

And I will try to snap some nice pictures for you after receiving it!

Yeah I understand your point and wrestled with that fact prior to even start designing these coins.  For me, Like I said dont always support some of these coins, but its still a piece of history and wanted to have a coin from many of the other alts (not from multiple vendors), just something to add to the collection.  Bitcoin producers will obviously have the most draw and sales.  I wanted to offer something to compliment people's collections.  Trying to create a new path instead of walking down the beaten trail.  Thanks guys, I appreciate everyone's input good , bad or indifferent as it will ultimately help me down the road.

Most of them would most likely never be funded, and that doesn't really matter, since the purpose is to collect one of each.

Does the paper slip inside have both the private key and the public key?
The reason I ask, is that I am slightly concerned about the actual assembling,  keeping track on what public key that should be engraved on which coin is not a trivial task, since there is no window in the hologram.

An interesting site note: Mike preloaded all his empty bearer bars with 0.001 BTC, so they public addy was searchable with only knowing the first digits.

Trivial is not even the word.  I hand verified addresses with the engravings not once but twice.  My eyes felt like they were bleeding after that..lol I then separated all of coins into groups and only worked on one coin at a time all the way through packaging.  Once each coins address was verified I made one printout of the public and private key, matched it up to the coin with the correct engraving, cut off the public key and put the private key right in the recessed area and applied the hologram sticker.  Then it went right into a coin capsule for protection and then into the pack and sealed shut.  Did this again and again until they were all finished.  Very time and labor intensive.  I've said it before but I have a new found respect for people who make these coins.  I did it this way to ensure absolutely no errors would occur, as I've treated each coin individually and not as a bulk production.  With the price I'm asking verses all of the coin and packaging along with the hours upon hours of labor, I'm really not making a killing off of these.  Enough to get some lunch and make a new series of coins.  Its a hobby now that hopefully I can turn into a legitimate business, all the while wearing protective gloves, that made it just a little harder to work with than normal..

I like the coins with the addresses right on them as it adds a little more than just a 'token' to the piece.  Thanks for hte interest.

I have done business with people on here, smoothie who might be the most reputable that have my info.  I would have no problem emailing you with that info if you would feel more comfortable, pm me your email address.  Would even give you my cell if you wanted to verify via a simple phone call as well.  I would expect you keep that info to yourself as I don't need every troll around lighting my phone up..lol

If he sends my package from his real return address I will have his info. I would only ever give it out to someone if they had concrete evidence he mishandled or copied private keys and if he wouldn't respond to questions/complaints himself. But I honestly don't see that happening in this case.

Trivial is not even the word.  I hand verified addresses with the engravings not once but twice.  My eyes felt like they were bleeding after that..lol I then separated all of coins into groups and only worked on one coin at a time all the way through packaging.  Once each coins address was verified I made one printout of the public and private key, matched it up to the coin with the correct engraving, cut off the public key and put the private key right in the recessed area and applied the hologram sticker.  Then it went right into a coin capsule for protection and then into the pack and sealed shut.  Did this again and again until they were all finished.  Very time and labor intensive.  I've said it before but I have a new found respect for people who make these coins.  I did it this way to ensure absolutely no errors would occur, as I've treated each coin individually and not as a bulk production.  With the price I'm asking verses all of the coin and packaging along with the hours upon hours of labor, I'm really not making a killing off of these.  Enough to get some lunch and make a new series of coins.  Its a hobby now that hopefully I can turn into a legitimate business, all the while wearing protective gloves, that made it just a little harder to work with than normal..

The full addy is needed, else would it not be possible to transfer funds to the coin.
Blockchain searches with only the first digits only work if the address has already appeared on the blockchain.

An interesting site note: Mike preloaded all his empty bearer bars with 0.001 BTC, so they public addy was searchable with only knowing the first digits.

I'm off-topic here too TookDk, but I have never really had any luck searching the Blockchain for some of my coins or addresses using only the first bits. Yes Snarlpill will have my info once I send out his tomorrow.  Definitely have nothing to hide and I would suspect most of these will never be loaded with anything.  And if they are it will be a minute amount.  I would never advocate putting all of your eggs in one basket let alone a basket made by someone else.  Just for safety alone.  I personally have never loaded any of the coins I have, other than the preloaded cas and lealana coins I have.  I more a collector but if someone wants to use it for practical savings, then that is fine as well.

Try using blockr.io and type the first 8 digits from one your public addresses (8 digits gives a little chance of a double hit).

Ive been getting the requests and I guess since im selling the physicals...

I am now accepting all 11 alts and bitcoin for payment for my coins.  Here are the conditions for all coins except bitcoin:

1) escrow will be unavailable (markets for alts swing too much for me not to have them in hand.  Escrow will still be available if using bitcoin for payment
2) I will use the current buy side of the market as exchange rate.
3) i can only hold my quote for one hour from my posted quote time.  This is just to eliminate people from using an old quote after the market drops for a certain currency.

So now there are many options to pay with.  Might regret this one but trying to provide a service that has been asked for.  Thanks all and good luck collecting!

Thats a pretty good score.  #3 doge.  Only 10 made.  So 1 doge and 1 bitcoin down.  Glad to see these packs are getting to their destination.  This early on i dont if it will be a success or not but either way you guys hold some rare coins.  I didnt even keep any for myself.  It was hard but thought it was only fair to put them all out in the wild.

I bought one of wheelz1200's Genesis coin packs the other day when I saw his thread and I received mine a couple days ago, but just got around to picking the package up today. I ended up receiving Darkcoin #004 and I am very pleased with the outcome! I really wanted a Bitcoin (or LTC, or DOGE), but thought about just purchasing a single Darkcoin or Clamcoin just to know I would be receiving a coin I'd want for sure. But I took the chance and rolled the dice with a random pack so I was very pleased to receive a physical Darkcoin, especially because I just recently added an F*D physical Darkcoin to my collection.

I really like the Genesis coin I received. Wheelz took a pretty different approach to distributing these which equals somewhat of a gamble for the buyer but I thought it was a fun idea. I like how they come sealed up in his branded little packs as well, that is a cool touch and really keeps the mystery going until the last minute. The coin itself is pretty hefty, has a nice mirror-like finish, and there is some pretty good relief on the minting like with the "2015". Another thing I really like about it is that each coin's public address is fully engraved onto it, no first bits or having to look up your address to have the full thing. The UV logo on the hologram that bithalo captured looks pretty sweet too. Overall I really enjoy the coin and would like to possibly get the BTC, LTC, DOGE, and CLAM versions sometime in the future.

There is. I believe it is the private key on a small folded piece of paper

The paper behind the holo bulges out.  It doesn't bother me.

To claify for all there is a recessed aread on the back of the coin (technically 2 recessed areas)  the first area is slight and that is where the sticker covers (the outer recess).  And then the one in the direct center that the private key is placed.  Its .5 inches in diameter and ezeminer was right the full key (no minis) is folded which after folding the paper is thicker than the recess.  So the result is that it bulges a bit.  Pros: its a full key for everyone that doesnt know how to handle minis and the font is large enough for people not to have to breakout a magnifying glass to read.  I also figured (maybe incorrectly) that the larger the print the greater the chance that any slight bleeding over the years wouldnt be as effected as with smaller fonts.  Ultimately I didnt think it looked to bad on the actual coin but in future series this is on the plate to fix up.  Hope this clarifies things.

I must agree with you one the mini keys, I also prefer a long key any day of the week.
I had no problem fitting a full key in a serp coin (one side single layer), if I remember right then are the indent 10x10mm.
Have you use inkjet or laser print?
(interesting on the bleeding part, I was not aware of that).

Yeah I made some slight miscalculations.  Next coin will have a slightly smaller font with a slightly larger recess area and the bump will go away (series 1 only).  Ive used inkjet.  Should last over a hundred years especially that it wont see direct sunlight (#1 cause of fading).  Im fairly new considering how long most of you guys have been here and catching up on the desireables when it comes to physical coins.  Although its fully minted my series one is more a "beta" than a final product.  I wanted to see what works and what doesnt.  Although its not a deal breaker i do want to fix the back area in the future.

Btw love the serp coins didnt know they were yours.  They are next up to the addition.

As far as minting them no.  Im not a machinist nor would I ever pretend to be.  They were designed by me and minted by professionals.  I did all the putting together of the coin.  Think thats how it goes for all of the coin manufacturers.  Thanks for your interest in the genesis line of coins

Well there is the first one made public.  Miner if you refer to my op there were a couple of mistrikes...the one you have, a gold coin2 and one of the bitcoins as well.  Was going to return them upon inspection but wanted the first series to be a true first print.  In future series, if errors are found during the inspection process they will be returned for rework prior to series release.  If you are indeed unhappy I will gladly refund the money and you can return the coin to me although some people tend to collect one offs.  Either way I know analogkid is looking for all #9s so im sure you can trade with him.

Shipping was quoted for registered usps mail.  Its more expensive but the safest way to ship that tracks over the US border.  Regular mail Is cheaper and would consider cheaper shipping if you wanted to.  The silver ones are the same price but the auction I have running currently comes to about $4 for each coin right now.  Thats a considerable discount right now.  For series 2 pricing per coin has not been determined as these will be a little different than series 1.  As it progresses I will have more details.  They will be in the same price range though I can tell you that much.

That's great to hear.  I think those are the first Genesis coins sent to ANACS.  Do you have a cert number for them you can send me?  Glad they graded out well for you.  I was happy with the coins when they came in, the scratches that you see in pics are mostly due to the capsules I shipped them in.  I have to fix that in my next series, I was not pleased with that. 

As far as a master list of addresses.....I do have.  Was thinking someday these might want to be checked like the cas coins can be.  Let me know what #s and coins you have and I can PM you those addys to be able to use instead of hand jamming them in off of the coin engraving.  I don't know if anyone else has, as Ive never checked but people that have bought singles from me, told me they would like to just don't know if they did.

Finishing up a major project at work and then its on to Series 2 which I hope everyone will like.  Got a couple of surprises in mind that will make it another fun adventure in collecting.  As Ive posted on my main page, the first to complete a set will get the very first pack of series 2 Genesis coins free of charge, I will hold to that.  Have a good one, and thanks for the support.

It looks like the lowest grade from ANACS for the first complete set of Genesis series 1 coins is a MS67. I will add more info and pics in a few days.

Quick question for wheelz100:

Do you have a master list of all of the addresses for series 1? I would like to fund the set and I am curious if anyone else has done so.

Nope, ANACS seems to be really random with that stuff. Noticed that with my Silver Wallets.

Is it extra to have the first bits printed on the slab?
The one I got graded, got the first bits, but they are in all capital letters.
AND There is no coin numbering on my slab.

I agree this is not very consistent with the labeling. The way they were itemized when submitted probably impacted this. I listed the #006 coins as a set when I submitted them, so they seem to have focused on that aspect.

It might be helpful if naypalm could be persuaded to create an uberbills for Genesis coins (see http://uberbills.com/). This could help encourage greater consistency in how they are listed by ANACS or ICG.

This is wheelz1200 and unfortunately got locked out of my account.  Been trying to get a hold of a mod to fix it but have been unlucky to this point.

It would be nice if naypalm could build a genesis coin uberbills.  I have done business with him before and will pm him once my account gets settled.
