Should you Replace your GPU's Thermal Compound?

I was reading reviews related to Bitcoin on Amazon, and I ran across this one for Antec Nano Diamond Thermal Compound Formula 7:

I purchased this thermal compound because I was experiencing temperatures over 80C with my HD5850s Bitcoin mining. Replacing the junky stock thermal compound with Formula 7 dropped my temperatures about 10 degrees Celsius, now my cards never hit 80C and I can have the fans set much quieter.

So I wanted to see if anyone else had done this on their GPU's and with what results.

I would believe it, they apply the stock thermal paste soooooooooooooo, badly. When I put my waterblock I used the low tier ceramic paste but hey, it still never goes over 50C. I bet I could get it down to 45C if I put some AS5 on there.

I have always replaced the stock thermal interface material on my GPU's I dont know about Antec's compound but it sounds similar to the tried and true ICY Diamond Carrot 7 I use.

The stock thermal compound is just not good enough if you are going to be overclocking or running 100% working load 24/7

if they have thermal tape as stock its horrible. if the application of paste was sloppy its bad. however i have great results using basic thermal paste from electronics shop its the same as radio shack version zinc, its just a few $. yes i know the fancy stuff must be better right... all the fancy marketing..uh huh.
