You will not get rich from advertisement on your site.  It takes a MASSIVE amount of impressions to make money. 

And yes its better if you have people click through ad's.  But very few click through compared to impression.

I think OP may be asking how to get the most views out of advertising their ad, not hosting advertisements, but I may be wrong.

You may want to try advertising on those pay-to-view/click sites that require users to be exposed to an ad to receive their earnings, might be a good place to start.
