I'm pretty curious. How do you ship these things?

44 edge crush test boxes for the outside packaged with coffee filters inside Tupperware inside the box.

The trick is to keep the snails from bouncing off each others shells along the trip.

Shipped via USPS.

Isn't there a rule for shipping live things?

A few.

Fedex and UPS won't ship live snails.

USPS the box needs to be the 44 edge crush test.

Snails can't cross state lines without USDA permission.

mmmmmm that's about all I've been bitched at about thus far Smiley!

CA may refer to:

California, a state located on the West Coast of the United States
Canada, a nation on the North American continent

They list California, a state, in front of Canada, a country?  lol.  Guess that site is Americanized.

Good luck with your sales sir!  Smiley

It's not Americanized it's alphabetized...don't be so quick to knock down the Americans...Canadians are part of North America too!

Mmmm it's a pretty close call Cheesy I can 100% promise the snail will have more personality than either of them.

Snails are super simple too.  The more you feed and water them... the more active they are.  If they don't get any food or water they just hibernate in there shells.

I regulate snail poo like this with my tanks.  With a 3 week plan they hardly shit ever.

Cheesy What do you mean... my rock and stick have plenty of personality.... they laugh at my jokes, they love my singing, they literally wet themselves at my Simon Cowell impression.

Best thing is they dont need feeding or shit ever and they like to cuddle up at night beside me in bed often under the covers Wink.

I've considered a snail in the past but dont think I could handle the late nights or loud music coming from their room, my teenage daughter already gives me enough trouble with that..

Snails are nocturnal, so if you aren't a fan of partying hard at night... the pet rock & pet stick maybe your best options!

Snails are asexual and have sex with each others, so a snails bedroom gets a bit "slimy"! Wink

Ha ha my stick and rock rule the house no chance of any other creatures coming in here especially the late night antics...

I like partying at night but dont think the slimy snails would be welcomed by the ladies my wife lol Grin.

Enough already thanks for the good laugh enjoy your snails hope you get to sell some soon Smiley.

All the saltwater fish tank stores sell live snails. All different kinds some totally coated in coralline algae. I'd say it's highly unlikely all those snails I see are from my state. Maybe look into how these other companies ship snails. Most of the stores just buy their inventory from online wholesalers.

Im baaaack! Looking for sig campaign. DM me if interested.

Can I get a picture of your snails, at home on the range? I can understand shipping in a small container, but it's the living that I'm concerned with. That one pic had a 100 snails on top of each other. The snails I see in "the wild", err my neighborhood, are roaming on grass all alone, not crowded like a mega city.

The picture in the OP is my home range.  I'm more of a "snail middle man".  Believe it or not the snail industry is really tight lipped and I think I would be out of line asking my connection for pictures. (Sorta like asking someone where their morel patch is)

Snails are absolutely pack animals.  They socialize and go to great extremes to protect each others survival.

You have to be careful about how many you keep in one tank .  If the snails believe there isn't enough resources for the pack... they kill themselves.

I feel like these snails are different than most other snails I've seen around the states.  I've never seen Helix Aspersa alone.

I've been in touch with the USDA a number of times concerning my snail business.

In order for my snails to cross state lines... they have to be accompanied with a PPQ permit.  I've already been issued a federal warning in regards to "snail smuggling"... lol *shakes head*

The trick is with snails is to locate the snail within the state you desire to ship to.  If the snail is already in the state where the customer is located, then there is no permit needed.  My argument is that these snails are already located in every state.

Edit: Also keep in mind my snails are a bit different than algae eaters Smiley Some algae snails require the same permit though I believe.

Fight the man!  Wink

This one is a love/hate relationship.

The FED's prevent live snails from being imported into the USA.  This prevents global competition for me.  Which is great for business.

The FED's prevent live snails from being able to be transfer across state lines without a permit.  This is fine because it prevents "heavy snail populated" areas such as the SF Bay Area to dominate key states such as Texas or Florida.  Right now my company only focuses on shipping snails within their respected state.  This method doesn't require a permit because there are no state lines crossed.

The FED's over regulating shit does hurt me because I can't ship to a LOT of people who want to purchase snails around the USA.  I'm going to bridge this profit hole with selling $20 nonrefundable permit applications (consulting.)  Basically my company will fill out your PPQ permit and lobby the USDA to please accept it.  It isn't as good as a $150 snail order, but $20 is $20 and beats the shit out of $0.

Johnny Appleseed would have been a huge felon now days. Sad

They can't stop these snails from staking their claim in this country and if they try to poison them there is a high chance of negative shit from it.

Best to just educate the people and these government folks on how best to use snails + create USA jobs and grow USA escargot industries.

If we didn't take care of cattle properly... they could be a serious pest as well. Smiley

(...) harvesting slime, shells for all types of things

Harvesting snail slime? LOL...

What can you do with slime? I'm just curious as I never imagined this.

And the shells? What are the uses of shells?

What is more profitable? The food part?
