no wonder why we afraid about that. how can a website that be closed may re-open and show up again. nowadays hackers are smarter, so the authorities should build a trap to catch them.

I hate when they do things like this. But you got to protect the big corporations who lobby the congress, who in term sic the FBI on the file sharers. But I guess they are going to get the people who have no idea what is going on. But I think for every filesharer they nab, there will be thousands more. You cannot stop them all.

They will go after the biggest sharers to send a message. There are indeed way too many people downloading/uploading to arrest and prosecute them all.

Corporations have money and resources to push their ideas in terms of copyrights and how to how to enforce them. But the problem with pirates is that they earn money on fileshare without doing anything in the developing process of the actual game. We want to have freedom in the internet but we should respect someone else's work.

Why would they need to set up a honeypot like this when they can easily find people's IP addresses from the people who use public torrent sites because 9/10 people don't bother to hide them. I don't believe this conspiracy to be true.

The problem isn't torrent sites. The problem is providers not offering the services people want for a price that reflects the value of that service.
If products and services prices reflected the value, there would be no need for Pirate Bay.

They'll probably go after the big uploaders or the actual pirates ripping or releasing the films in the first place. I'm sure they'll send out some vaguely threatening letters to other downloaders or maybe people will start getting taken to court by Hollywood to shit people up a bit. I also don't believe there's much truth to this story and people are being paranoid though I'd like to hear from some actual evidence.
