If I had to spend it all on coins I would invest 95 percent on BTC and the rest on various alt coins in hopes to make a quick buck.  I figure many would do the same here if we have to spend the 30k on crytos.

Yes Litecoin and BTC are good but you cant get there much profit like you can get from altcoins where you can buy from 0.000....$ there its easyier to double or increase tenfold. Last Year i hold Blackcoin at the begin and sell them at 8 cent so there was good profit and for the moment i just have Stabilit Shares XSI since a new China Team on it it grows up good but i looking for other altcoins to invest now.

I would get a nice position in Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin, NXT and NEM. Those seem and have been solid in my eyes for a long time Smiley

Asssuming that I had to spend it all on cryptos rather than fiat, I'd probably put most of it in Bitcoin, with a large chunk of the rest in NXT and Litecoin (only because LTC tends to spike more than BTC during a rally). I'd also put small amounts in other promising coins and platforms such as BitShares, Counterparty, NEM, DASH, Ethereum, Monero, Ripple, Dogecoin, Peercoin, and a few others.

short litecoin

Is this even possible?

I know that it's possible to short BTC on platforms such as Bitfinex but I've never heard of it being possible to short altcoins before.

I would buy some physical coins.

So I invest in cryptos and in gold/silver too.

And even if cryptos fail they still might have some value for collectors

i'd spread it around 10% each in : SDC, Monero, NXT, someother coin after doing to reading into it. Day trading can be fun just don't get emotional about it

the rest in BTC or buy something nice for yourself ;p but i'd never invest all of that even if i could.

I would avoid any altcoins until you educate yourself about them.  There are many that are just pump and dump schemes.  The good ones can get lost in the shuffle, and so can your money.  If you want cryptos I would put all of it into bitcoins, maybe buy some hash over on hashnest, and learn as much as you can before buying anything else.  And watch out for those HYIPs.  They are all scams and I would hate to see anyone lose money to them.

Are the people mentioning Litecoin insane or just bagholders? I could not think of a worse investment (unless you're shorting).

Stick to BTC and if you have to choose an alt, go with NXT. Amazing development and community.

1. Bitcoin
2. [Whatever]Coin - start my own crypto currency.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

As i know there are coins with good development like Guldencoin and NXT this coins are intresting. Are there coins where are coming with good development ? Are there coins with the sense to buy something with it not just trading to get profit like the most coins are.

Are the people mentioning Litecoin insane or just bagholders? I could not think of a worse investment (unless you're shorting).

Stick to BTC and if you have to choose an alt, go with NXT. Amazing development and community.

Historically speaking, Litecoin has tended to follow Bitcoin's price trajectory but in a much more exaggerated manner (actually this is true for most altcoins). When Bitcoin went from $13 to $1,200 in 2013 (i.e. a 100x difference), Litecoin went from $0.07 to $48 in the same period (i.e. a 700x difference). When Bitcoin went from $900 to $300 in 2014 (i.e. a 66% drop in value), Litecoin went from $20 to $2 (i.e. a 90% drop in value).

Of course, there is no guarantee that history will repeat itself, and it's possible that LTC prices will continue to fall despite a rising BTC price (certainly the altcoin market is a lot more competitive now compared with 2011-2013 and the development of scrypt ASICs has also eliminated one of Litecoin's main benefits over Bitcoin).
