Auto system detecting the same email address modified register multiple accounts

I've recently seen a site the we can split your Gmail account to infinitely many mails using the '+' sign and the '.' sign (like, <yourmail>@gmail.com and <yourmail>+1@gmail.com is likely different email addresses but they belongs to the same account). Will this forum detect those emails for registering multiple accounts? This could prevent some of the account farmers.

You're allowed to register multiple accounts. Admins will be able to see the email addresses associated with any accounts though.

Fixed where? It's a feature of Gmail.
