Those buying before sept 2016 get early investor bonus?! Just how long is this ico?

The crowdfunding will be ongoing through the alpha/beta periods until client launch, which is expected to be next year. Backers who support us will have access to the pre-launch client releases for testing.

This is so clearly a scam it's ridiculous, secure against quantum computers?? Really? They don't even exist - wow, just wow again  Shocked

Security against quantum computers is just one innovation, the research and security analyses backing up our claims is outlined here. Here's an excerpt:

Quote
What Dinh and buddies have shown is... it is immune to attack by Shor’s algorithm. In fact, it is immune to any attack based on quantum fourier sampling. That’s a big deal. It means that anything encoded in this way will be safe when the next generation of quantum computers start chomping away at the more conventional public key cryptosystems.

The other main innovations of Qointum is being a web-scalable multi-blockchain smart contract platform, and having transactions and contracts scripted in Python which is a language used by millions of developers.

Whatever you say, this is pure nonsense and everyone with a shred of grounding in science and common sense can see through this...

Bitcoin script is very limited, for example the prediction market Augur already requires a Turing-complete platform, notice that they did not choose to develop on Bitcoin nor any of its derivatives. Python scripting will allow developers to create highly complex smart contracts, and it's a familiar language among developers that is much easier to work with.

Thanks! The design is inspired by the awesome effect of quantum tunneling by an electron wavepacket. Smiley

Really well organized website.  I am just a little unsure because of the large gap in time between the crowd funding and the plans to have anything tangible.  I will keep my eyes on this though.

That's why the crowdfunding and bonus extends for so long, it's reasonable to pledge at a later stage.

Ethereum at least had some code to show before it held an IPO. Do you have any code completed, or are you expecting us to just take your word for it?

Although Ethereum had code before its IPO it's not doing too well, and months behind schedule. How can you do better if you don't even have code to start with?

Well, we're using an existing scripting language (Python) and development environment rather than creating a new one (or two as Ethereum did!) which would be a huge time sink. Also we'll be using existing browsers (eg. Chrome) rather than creating a new one, and we expect users to create distributed application stores/advanced wallets/contract apps rather than creating our own. As well, there will be only one client implementation in C++ rather than multiple implementations in Python/Go/C++.

Again, if the risk is too high for you then you can pledge at a later stage, the crowdfunding will be ongoing.

Looked over site. comments below:

I don't see any info about the team. Site looks kinda like a  spammy internet marketing" site, a lot of hype, exclamation points, highlighted and colored fonts.

Equity cost works out to .001% equity per BTC.

A patent troll in the making?

"Legal Notice: This document describes inventions by NewGamePlus Inc. that are patent-pending with the USPTO."

They are also planning on charging a subscription fee to use the client:

"Software Licensing

The Qointum client software is available under the following license types:

a Personal License which is free but limited by revenue restrictions
a Pro License which requires a subscription (see Pricing)"

Tech details and quotes above are at https://wiki.qointum.com/design/dev/ . Looks like patent applications need to be searched to see if any assholes are trying to patent things which should be public domain. They have 1 month from posting or publishing to apply for a patent.

This is not the case, there's some confusion about this so we've cleared things up. As stated in the Campaign Details, all qoin amounts will be normalized at launch depending on the amount of pledge-rewarded qoins.

No patent, decided instead to archive the design document on a number of web archives to serve as prior art for legal defense.

Yes, we're going with a "Unity-style" license, free for small commercial uses. Stakeholders may benefit from this as the subscription fee must be paid to our company in qoins. It's up to you to decide whether you believe that the value of the qoin will be bolstered by our licensing and IP protection plans.
