... on average. Mining is basically a random process and finding a block can take longer. It also happens that a few block are found in quit succession.

Edit: ~5800 TX are currently waiting for confirmation, so we will need 2-3 blocks to clear the backlog.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

as above, 10 minutes is the average, ive seen blocks take anywhere from 2 minutes to a few hours to mine, it all depends on the miners guessing the right hashes.

Sometimes there's 1hour with no blocks found. Then BAM 5 at once. It's funny, but if you're waiting for confirmation it can get really frustrating.

no.

ah this could explain why my last transaction was still stuck there even with proper fee...

this is not really certainly pleasant for anyone running a serious business with bitcoin

It might be an issue among peers that do not trust each other and are in a hurry, I doubt its an issue for serious businesses.

This was a problem the other day when i was trying to transfer some money over to buy some hash.  It took longer than usual and by the time the transfer went through the price of hash had gone up like I knew it would.  Oh well I guess that is how it goes sometimes.  I still made money, but I could have made slightly more.

Sometimes blocks spend more than an hour, and sometimes they take minutes or seconds to go,it is 10 minutes by mean, but you can't predict how long they will be

thanks. I have been running a full node (bitcoin core) for a couple of days, thus was wondering about that block...
