No you're not paranoid. I've been thinking the same thing. Bitcoincharts right now just has "out of coins" on it's pages. Makes me sad!
Nearly every pool has been DDOS'd in the last few days and there are still ongoing communication problems with most of them.
Whoever is doing this must really have something against bitcoin!

How can you be sure that hackers aren't faking the price?

Anonymous thought they were the cool kids. Look how they react when they are reality challenged.

BitMarket.eu was down due to mail server error, this has nothing to do with DDoS'es... this time . It's already up now.

Bitcoinmarket.com seems to have been slow all day. Related? Sometimes not even loading.

On the side note, Bitcoin Signature Generator was subject to an attack a week ago. I got hundrets of new registrations with names like: 1 UNION ALL SELECT null,null,null,null,null-- 999999.9 UNION ALL SELECT 0x31303235343830303536-- /\\../\\../\\../\\../\\../\\../\\../etc/passwd ${@print(md5(acunetix_wvs_security_test))}\\ sample@email.tst\' and sleep(4)=\' etc.
Attacker's IP was: 124.148.255.198 UA String: "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727) Havij"

all bitcoin transactions are recorded in the blockchain, if you sent it on its way then it irrelevant if their client died or not look your transaction up on http://blockexplorer.com/

I accidentally duped a 10 BTC transaction to a merchant using mybitcoin.com and am yet to get any response from them (mybitcoin.com, not the merchant).

Whoever is doing this must really have something against bitcoin!
Or they just did the math that if you somehow knocked out 2-3 of the major pools, you would essentially be getting most/all bitcoins w\ enough processing power in your own pool.
