I am an archaic man in this sense. I have still not left Bitcoin Core personally, and some paper wallets. I have no idea how all those online services work except the blockchain.info wallet.

Same here, but been looking into HD wallets. I think those are the future, the improvement in privacy make them superior to any other wallets. Love Armory and Electrum for non-main storage.

With Circle, you dont even control your bitcoins .. it makes bitcoin centralized, which is the opposite intent of cryptocurrency. I can't believe people are actually using this dubious service ..

wasn't it circle that was giving away $5 worth of bitcoin to everyone to attract user to itself?
if the 10,000 50,000 downloads are related to their promotion it doesn't show anything about the popularity or anything about the service. it shows that so many people got $5
actually many were from the same account, there was a large abusing in that promotion, i would not be surprised if from those 50k only 1000-10k are legit circle giving away $5 to promote their services is not necessarily a bad thing. they have to attract attention somehow. there were a lot of other services that started this way. if i am not mistaken, paypal was giving away something like $1 at the beginning of its work, too.

it is not that different from any other exchange(and you use them too), a decentralized circle would be far better, but it is still a good tool for many users that want fast transactions with about bitcoin

This is good to see that the Circle app has a decent amount of downloads. The number can only grow with time, and i think Circle will help a lot with bitcoin's adoption in the long run.

Im not sure about the number of downloads is real from 1 person, because people abuse a free $5 but i like circle app, nice interface and the transactions is better. ~iki

Well there's quite a gap between 10-50 thousand but anyway, both figures are quite good! I've been wondering how they calculate app downloads. I often delete an app only to re-download it a few weeks later. Does that count as a new download or not? I guess that could account for quite a few downloads if that is the case.

True but you have to admit that it was a brilliant way to promote it. They must have spent a ton on this promotion but it appears that it gained them some traction. If they have goldman money, then they are bankrolled by the usa taxpayers. This puts them in a good position to take risks like this promotion. well i guess they have to do these kinds of promotional giveaways in order to attract people to their services, otherwise they might die in the competition. ofcourse a lot of them was fake accounts that abused the system to get the $5 only but still i can see why they did it.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

No, not Google but Circle itself pays people. All I can see is USD and no BTC. I'll download it in a short moment and share more info.

I have been using the blockchain.info wallet too, but the recent news (Android bug and site problems) has me a bit more worried about using them lately.
