When Tesla says that they are working with peercoin, then it will be legit. All you have there is a tweet and a thread discussing the tweet.

Well, that is an interesting development.
i am wondering why Peercoin is considered for a business partnership rather than a other more liquid coin?

because PPC is an og alt and the basis of all PoS efficiency. Makes perfect sense to team the two concepts together.

I wish to see something come of this

This post sums up why all this bullshit is a scam

PPCoin was originally advertised as the first energy efficient cryptocurrency. So whether this is true or not, it at least makes sense.

I would love to see PoS grow. Hate how many people in Bitcoin outright reject it. And then they complain about how centralised Bitcoin is getting because of mining and how increasing block sizes leads to even more centralisation.

These are the same people that complain about pollution, yet still drive around honking great V8's and bleat that electric alternatives are inferior Smiley

So a PoS coin AND an electric vehicle pioneer teaming up?? DAAAAAM, time for drama! Smiley

I'm not sure about this, because they sold one car in 2013 for $103,000 or.... 91.4 BTC. Grin

I tried to beg/borrow/steal a Tesla Roadster last year for use as a NXT promo vehicle, but Tesla had just stopped selling the Roadster, and had got rid of their promo fleet.
But, heres some concept art:

Tesla (or any other car manufacturer) could certainly use blockchain tech to keep individual vehicle records, but I'm not sure that blockchain tech has any real advantages, as opposed to a centralised database.

Couldn't get the Tesla and had to settle for the NXT Lambo? Cheesy

Well.. not sure what to say here.. it's just embarrassing that anyone would believe this cheap, extremely low effort pump tactic.

Not sure about this specific example, but this type of partnerships can be huge for (alt)coins.

In this case, I think we need some more information about the partnership to come, as I can't think of a good way to use it yet? Maybe to pay for electricity on the roadside?

Mintcoin is more energy efficient than peercoin.

Stop Mining.   Start Minting.   Mintcoin  [MINT]
5% annual minting reward. Mintcoins don't wear out like mining gear. They keep on minting!

Sounds like someone schmoozed a meeting with a Tesla exec. Typically, those meetings go nowhere.

I know Tesla sold a car for Bitcoin, as a once-only. That was prolly a publicity stunt to get the Bitcoin "insta-millionaires" to buy a Tesla. There was more in it for Tesla than Bitcoin.

Unless Peercoin has a base of "insta-millionaires" too, I don't see this meeting leading anywhere.

It did. Or does still, not sure.

But are there enough to get Tesla deciding that integrating Peercoin would sell Teslas to them?

Interesting. I'd be following this. Hopefully this does not turn out to be something like Garza's partnership with Wal-Mart for PayCoin.

Ripple has done these sort of misleading announcements for many years now.

No doubt, what really happened was the Peercoin guy had a coffee or a phone call with one of the dozens of VPs at Tesla, who was just having an entertaining conversation and probably forgot about it the next day.  These misleading announcements are done all the time for pump and dump stuff.
