If you’re interested in discovering more about cryptography – there are upcoming meetups (aka a ‘CryptoParty‘) happening around the globe.
I attended the 1st Sydney CryptoParty a bit over a week ago.. Bitcoin didn't come up as a general topic (they focused on Tor & GPG) , but I did discuss it with a couple of people.
The CryptoParty scene does seem like a good fit for Bitcoin.
