static IPs for my cable company are outrageously priced so to get a static IP I have to use a VPN

at this point I have no clue what to do.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

Watch out with this scam. It's like Gridpay. The devs post pictures of a store, and put buy orders, there are masternodes...But one day, you will wake up with a big dump in your screen and a heart attack.
This is the life: always scam.

They even posted pictures of themselves working so at the very least there are a few people who agreed to have their face be part of this so that to me lessens chance of scam.  Also you can't really fake hashrate at least not easily and there was a TON of hashrate mining this coin.  I think devs say they put in 40,000 EUR into renting miners to mine their own coin and by the amount of hashrate on the official pool during the mining phase it would seem that they did.  I know its always best to guess scam in this game of altcoins but this one seems kinda legit to me.

If they are scamming they are at the very least going for the long con so I'm in till I see something fishy.

Really good idea but bad algo in my opinion. Do you plan to have some cooperations with a pharmaceutical company or startup?

I experienced the same thing and made the same mistake ,

When you stake the 50 goes to the masternode, the dust after the decimal point is what you actually get, and soon your wallet will adjust to show this.

Is def a master node coin and wealth is distributed very unevenly, people will stop staking as its only a node that actually makes any coin

Thank you for the thoughtful response.  I have been trying all day to setup a masternode but there is no documentation on how to do it exactly.  The darkcoin info is pretty much useless as it has a pretty different setup process.

I found the DRK masternode setup guide at https://dashtalk.org/threads/taos-masternode-setup-guide-for-dummies.2680/ useful. XPH master nodes seem to work the same way as DRK and CRAVE.

The hot MN/cold wallet setup works nicely. I did it with a linux pharmad as a wallet and another linux pharmad as a MN on a vps. Once you get your MN started, you can take your wallet offline and it continues to stake.

Generate the MN privkey on the wallet and copy to the MN config file. Send 50K XPH to account 0 in the wallet. Add the MN IP address and privkey to the wallet config file. Start the masternode using 'masternode start' on the wallet … its all in the link above. Check your debug.log for error messages. If you get complaints about vin … and no coins its because you forgot to send 50K XPH to account 0 on your wallet.

There is no way in hell this is paying out 20% interest on stake right now.  Periodic flecks of dust aren't going to amount to a damn thing.

As far as your problem goes, configure it to run on your local IP address just as a test.  I understand you can't get a static IP address at home, but I can't imagine your IP address is changing so often that you can't depend on a solid 30 minutes with it.  Eliminating the VPN from the equation temporally at least lets you narrow down where the problem lies.

just run your wallet with staking=0 (to prevent staking)
I think this was the problem
