Hi,
Is there any website like prosper that makes it possible for users to lend and borrow bitcoins?  If not, I would like to create one.

I am new to bitcoin... I have been reading on it for around a year now and made my first transaction on this forum today.  However, I have been a web developer for 11 years and I am willing to work on such a system.

The system would verify the identity and credit of people, just like on prosper.  Then, lenders would be able to lend small amount of BTC to diversify their portfolio.

If this interests anyone, let me know...willing to start this project this week if it currently does not exists and if it interests people here.

Thanks,
Steve

The only way it will work is if you don't depend on facebook, twitter or any other premade login things for ID. Keep anonymity with detection of a scammer. Also make it so the lendees don't get screwed over. Also many people have tried and failed, so if you succeed then you sir will be praised, if you fail we will forget about you. So I suggest you look over where the other sites have failed and you can build upon those.

btcjam,

Who holds the bitcoins when it is in escrow?  Does it use multisignature for transactions?

If you hold the bitcoins, show us where you live, where your company is, and what your name is.

I'm sorry, our new partner (Waru) has a very good designer in house and is working on our "about page" right now, nevertheless I should've put a simple page with basic info.

I just did it, feel free to ask any questions.

Please, take a look: https://btcjam.com/contact
