I was just explaining that miln40's assumption that a peak in player donations could create a loss for BitMofo if he doesn't time the end of the game properly might be mistaken.  That description assumes a particular set of rules which may not be true (that donations are doubled in the order they are received, and that donations are doubled even at a loss to the game operator with the expectation that later donations will offset the loss).

Looking at the blockchain it seems it has been over 3 hours since anyone has tried playing.  I'm guessing people are waiting to see if any more successful doubles are posted before jumping in with more donations.

Like I said, it was probably necessary to get things going (much like a musician placing a few dollars in their own tip jar before they put it out). But that particular claim of doubling looks like an obvious lie. Perhaps that is the only lie, but the existence of that lie does make me wonder how many more lies there are in this game.  How many more false claims of doubling? How many sock-puppets?

Seems to early to have cashed out yet.  All he has to do is pay a few off to reassure people that he is still doubling, and he should get more players.  I'd think he could keep that up for a week or so and significantly increase his take.

Heck, if I get doubled up, I'll just plow it right back in.  I wrote it off as a loss when I started, I figured I'd keep doubling my play until I reached his cap.

Thought I would've been able to get in before BitMofo got out as it seemed like some transactions were being doubled after I had sent mine, but I do believe Mr. BitMofo has left the building with ~10BTC maybe? Yep. What's funny is he said that this is exactly what he was going to do from the beginning. I sent 1 BTC knowing full well I would 99% never see it again, but I'm a gambling man and thought if I could score a free 1 BTC out of it + the entertainment value then I'd get more than my money's worth.
