Hi guys,

I think it's back ... I received 0.0001 BTC from this address: https://blockchain.info/address/1Lr5PXYS3c221xtP2EYZqfthZebJRBVxSR

With a public note:

DON'T MISS OUR SPECIAL OFFER ! SEND NOW 0.02 TO THIS WALLET AND GET 0.04 INSTANT ! OR CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR MORE OPTIONS - YOU CAN DOUBLE ANY BTC IN 12 HOURS * BTC-MULTPLIER.FR

I'd AVOID the website stated on the note which is BTC-MULTIPLIER.FR <--- I WILL NOT visit the site !

Don't be greedy & there is no free meals. Be cautious as many computers especially wallets are being hacked.

I can be wrong but better to be safe than sorry.

Looks like it's advertising a thinly disguised ponzi game. There are hundreds, possibly even thousands of these sites all over the web. I visited the site using my phone and they claim to invest your deposits into trading bots:

Quote
Want to make some fast BTC?

All you have to do is decide how much BTC you want to invest and how long you want wait for the return on investment.
Just hit Invest Now and transfer some BTC to the address provided.

Quote
Who we are?

We are a small group of investors, programers and brokers which have dedicated their time to research and development.

How we do it?

- We have studied the Bitcoin marketplace as well as the other digital currencies very closely, and we have build BOTS with AI (Artificial Intelligence).
- We have created a database with all the trading volumes available on the digital currencies which is updated daily, allowing the bots to spot different patterns on the price movement.
- The BOTS are using different strategies and they are capable to adapt to any online trading platform.
- With simple BUY and SELL orders (calculated by complex algorithms) placed on different trading platforms we have the leverage and ability to manipulate the markets.

I'm surprised this method of advertising isn't more popular. I know there was another "investment" company called Laxo Trade that did the same thing a few months back. There are also people who spend hours upon hours filling out CAPTCHAs on faucet sites and visiting faucet rotators just to earn a fraction of 0.0001 BTC so I'm sure there are a few people here who might actually prefer this form of advertising as well since unlike email spam, at least the receiver can get a few cents out of it.

(Could be useful for paying transaction fees too, I guess.)

What I found amazing is that you literally found that tx in less than three minutes after it was conducted. In fact, the tx wasn't confirmed till seven minutes after you posted the OP. Odd, eh?

why odd? i received a notification from my wallet that an payment came in so i posted it up once i saw it & i'm sure it took more than the 3 or 7 mins that you're talking about. you might wanna sync your clock.

i hate things like this thus my so called early warning to others & hopefully no 1 gets scammed or a possible hack on their pc's, laptops or phones.

OPEN eyes wide & USE the brain to think before speaking will be a good thing to practice in life heh ?

I wonder how many people fall for their scam and send them money?

Free money is always good.

I remember when I used to receive 1 Satoshi spams.

At least 0.0001 is something

Surely 1 satoshis never confirmed and even if they did they would only cause your fees to be higher when you tried to spend them.

if someone wants to try investing on that site, check the transactions on their "Last Payments" tab and think again. this is not a ponzi. it's just a pure scam. you won't get anything back.

The website is safe (security wise). It contains no evident malware.
https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/e76b6b75bce14a5ce02e135bd360c84bb22661a94ab411c30db3be52b03230c1/analysis/

However I would not try using that website. According to blockchain.info I haven't received anything on any address (cold storage; won't bother to check).
We've had similar spam transactions in the past. There were thousands of similar transactions in the past.
Here is an example:
