This article isn't about bitcoin - but it's notable that it talks of a Bitcoin example for QR codes.
Mentions like that are a sign that Bitcoin is becoming pretty well known in the tech field at least. It's now normal to cite it as an example. It was only earlier this year that it seemed even a large slice of the tech community was ignorant of its existence.

QR codes have been gaining traction in recent years amongst advertisers and perhaps more interestingly, malware authors. Just recently, BitInstant announced an upcoming, BitCoin-funded credit card which will also include a QR code for identification purposes.
