Could you tell us in detail what your lawyer said, or even ask him to write something out for us for the potential investors to evaluate?  I think you can do this without violating your paranoia about revealing what state you are located in.
Not at this time.

I would say wait another week or until I'm ready to actually put the funds to use.  I talked to my lawyer today, received his support.  Will talk to agent this week, hopefully and work on my business plan over the weekend.

Lawyers aren't there to give you their "support".  They're there to advise you on any legal issues associated with your proposed venture.  If you're paying your lawyer to handle all of the licensing, permits, etc, then he'll need to gather more information before it's certain your proposal will be able to proceed and he'll charge you by the hour for doing that.

When you talk to the real estate agent, make sure that you ask about any limitations on the purposes for which the premises can be used.  You especially need to know whether it can be used for food and beverage service, indoor smoking and live entertainment.  Even if the real estate agent says it can, you need to double check that information with whoever approves business zoning in your city and make sure that you fully understand any conditions which might be attached to such uses - not just licences and permits, but also physical modifications you might have to make to the premises such as installing toilets, creating exits, installing independent air-conditioning, special waste management, noise-proofing, etc in order to get approval for operating your business from those premises.

Do you know what the premises were previously used for?
I'll make sure to do that when I talk to him.  Thank you for your input.  I do not yet know what it was previously used for.

I do hope to get the lounge to a point where I can hire a manager and lay back on the work, but I'm fully committed to get it to that point of sustainability.

Just look at this goddamn sentence.  Dank is counting chickens generations before they hatch.  You've checked out, already.  You have a cocktail-napkin business plan at this point, and you're already looking at making someone else run the show for you so you can retire to the tropics.  You are Atlas reborn, an Ideas Guy to the core.  This is the common thread in every single one of your schemes; You have an idea, put in the bare minimum of effort hoping for some rube to give you a monster cash infusion, and the details will take care of themselves.  It's like you think Eddie Van Halen picked up a guitar the day before he met David Lee Roth.

Incredible, there's an entire continent between point A and B, and you're just glossing over all of it.  Why don't you get into bitcoin mining?  use your 75k bitcoins to buy a bunch of GPU's, and you'll be sipping mai tai's in Fiji in no time at all!

I think the point is more that even having a business is only a goal at this point and you don't comprehend how far away it is.  After that, profit is a goal.  And then sustainability. You are kind of jumping ahead to retirement and skipping the business part entirely.

Early in my business career I met a man in Greensboro, North Carolina who told me and a partner this when I was just starting out: "It's like you're the Wright Brothers but instead of working on a plane your planning out the in-flight meals for your fleet of 747s."

dank, do you have a credit score?  There are some financing options which might be available to you at roughly the same rate of interest you're looking at paying lenders here but which options are open to you will depend on your financials.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Dank you are currently being trolled.

http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3486823

Don't be angry with them, they have actually been an excellent resource to Bitcoin (I know crazy I am saying this huh).

They have even trolled me in the past, and I damn well deserved every last bit of it, as it only allowed me to grow as a businessman and I only became better from it. After, I was able to focus my attention on the ideas that I was good at, and that truly have a chance at resonating with the rest of the "real world" population.

If you are looking to have a successful business, listen to EVERY single thing they are saying in their posts.

Your plan is poorly thought out, and has an almost definitive chance of failure. It doesn't mean it's a bad idea, it just means you have not thought out the plan properly, and simply put, you are asking for WAY to much money, and offering such a pathetic pitch to investors, it makes it all the more difficult for this start-up to even "start"..

I wish you the best Dank,

Don't give up on your pursuits! I must however recommend that any fellow newbie members who are reading this, stay far away from this investment, at least until more details surface, or the entire
plan is reworked.

Dank all you have to do is say this to yourself over and over, and you will be fine...

It's not trolling.  It's something much more related to the world of Bitcoin -- Mining.  Mining comedy gold.
Cheesy The comedy gold has been one of Bitcoins greatest assets. I just wish the comedy wasn't coupled with innocent people taking losses in companies like MyBitcoin or Bitcoinica, through no fault of their own.

Businesses that want to deal with Bitcoin must first understand the Bitcoin economy, and the many different challenges and limitations that exist, simply because we currently have a limited user base. This is of course changing with time, and the more adoption becomes a reality, the easier it will be to start-up Bitcoin oriented businesses, and to get the clientele they need to survive in the crucial start-up phases.

This of course doesn't mean "DURRR buy moar bitcoinz, I GETA millionrez status", and it surely doesn't mean that by attaching Bitcoin to your business, it's automatically going to make it blow up. What this does mean however is an opportunity for serious entrepreneurs and companies to enhance their existing product lines by offering the powerful Bitcoin infrastructure and the solid user base that backs it.

I am all for reform,

Including fumigating this forum of all the parasites, (Scammers, Flamers, Non-Productive Trolls), and removing all the forum sections  (ponzi schemes) that are detrimental to our long-term successes !

I feel sorry for everyone who's wasting their time trying to help Dank. He's made it very clear across many threads that he's not interested in anyone's help. People have tried. I'm pretty sure that if he were to get such a loan he'd just take the money and run anyway. But for anyone who's not convinced that he's trolling/scamming/inept, find some of his guitar tracks and listen to them. He claims he's been playing for a couple months. I was better in less than a week of concerted effort than he is, and I will be the first to admit after playing daily for 5+ years I'm very, very mediocre. Just listening to them should show you exactly what kind of effort he puts into something he considers really important to him. In somewhat of a scary parallel to his business ideas in this thread he's attempted to skip over any and all fundamentals of the instrument and go straight into writing "songs". So please do something that will turn out to be far more valuable with your internet time like watching porn, voting for american idol, or playing flash games.

But for anyone who's not convinced that he's trolling/scamming/inept

If he is trolling, then he is deserves an award.  That would be master-trolling.  Of course, after applauding the trolling, we'd have wonder what kind of loser would put that much effort into trolling.

Unfortunately, I just don't think it's trolling.  Anyone wanna bet BTC10k?

I'll guarantee that at least one person reading this thread has either decided that their great idea isn't viable at all or has learned about some of the things people wanting to launch their own business need to consider.  The advice given doesn't have to be taken by dank in order to benefit someone.

I must admit, I really want to see what his business plan looks like after the weekend.  He could have written a comprehensive business plan in the time he's wasted responding to Rarity's posts alone over the last week.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

if dank is just looking for a loan then it doesn't matter what he does with the money.

Are you serious?  Try going to your bank and asking for a personal loan of $20,000-40,000 with no assets and little income and see whether or not they ask you why you want the loan.  The business dank plans to set up with the money is integral to his capacity to repay the loan.  No-one's going to lend him the kind of money he's asking for unless he can demonstrate a capacity to repay it.

If he doesn't want to explain the purpose for which he wants the loans, then he needs to look at trying to fund it with things like credit cards - and he's not likely to get multiple lines of credit without a stable income and some kind of financial history.

I wouldn't lend my best friends or my family $20,000 without knowing what it was for - I certainly wouldn't do it for a total stranger.  If he doesn't want to have to convince people that he'll be able to repay the money then he needs to ask for donations instead of loans.

if dank is just looking for a loan then it doesn't matter what he does with the money.

Of course it matters, nobody is gonna loan money to start a business without seeing a lot more information than Dank is willing to provide. And seeing how he shits all over anyone willing to help him, I doubt he's gonna get it.

And dank, if you think MonsterAnts is being rude, go and show your business plan/proposals to anyone who has any business experience and they'll laugh you out the door. At least he's trying to help. He had some really good advice for you  (god knows why he's wasting time on you), you should at least read it instead of just dismissing it.

I would say wait another week or until I'm ready to actually put the funds to use.  I talked to my lawyer today, received his support.  Will talk to agent this week, hopefully and work on my business plan over the weekend.

Are you serious? Do you really think you are ready to move forward on this within a week with hardly no research done? Do you have any idea what it actually takes to start and run a business?

Thanks, I haven't realized.  Wink

You people probably think my life plan is poorly thought out too, and that's the beauty of living in the moment, you don't have to plan out every part of something, it unravels before you, perfectly, if you just do what needs to be done.

I feel sorry for everyone who's wasting their time trying to help Dank. He's made it very clear across many threads that he's not interested in anyone's help. People have tried. Not interested in that.  I do take away some stuff between the bullshit, but honestly, I have already thought of most of what you all say myself, I'm just not ready to do anything with it because I'm not at that stage.

I have only been playing for a couple months, like once a week.  I've been playing more 'full time' for like three weeks.  I have a different playing style, don't you worry though, it will advance into wild, beautiful noise.  You don't need music 'fundamentals' to be good at an instrument, just ask Jimi.

How many times have people said this?  Like since I started asking for loans?  And am I not here, over a year later?

BadBear, you can get a lot done in a week.  I'm not saying I'll have everything done by then but we'll see where we're at.
