Hello.
What is Gemini? What will it provide of new?
I think nothing. Its just gonna be another exchange but there is hype around it because its founders, WinkleDee and WinkleDumb are somebodys (apparently).
Good grief, the amount of new accounts this numb nut makes is simply astonishing. I've been talking bitcoin to this one older dude (that day trades oil and gold futures w/ some other guy from NYC) that I work w/ for over a year and he's been long awaiting for the Winks to get Gemini up and running. There are legions of traders that are waiting for this kind of regulated exchange to get up so they can trade in bitcoin in relative safety. Plus, there's an aura/buzz around what these Winks are up to.

my day trader friend asked me the same thing the other day. most traders are actually want to know if theres a exchange that wont flop on them.

he asked me so hows anyone trading on bitcoin, and are you trading at all? I answered, nope cause you cant buy and sell like on think or swim putting in orders then getting out lol.

Coinbase announced instant buying and selling of Bitcoin.

Was this just a coincidence to collide with Gemini's launch or was it well-planned strategy?

It was probably well thought. Coinbase is one of the leading markets. After all it's all a big competition to steal volume from your competitors, and Gemini will be a big one.

I'm crazy impatient to see what is going to happen...That's because it is great news! , it'll  be one more door of entry for people to buy bitcoins.

Back in mid June, OP wondered if Gemini might go live "next week". Unfortunately it didn't.  Does anyone have new info or care to speculate?

There isn't one. That's the standard time frame to keep hopes up among people waiting for Bitcoin miracles.
