Yeah the forum is a great place, when I havent got time i reddit and all bitcointalk posts of significance are usually on the top so there's a bit of overlap.

I Just Google Bitcoin and filter results: Past 24 hours; Past week; Past month
 Done.

Anything worth reading I miss pops up on Bitcoincharts News Feed.

Thank me in Bits 12MwnzxtprG2mHm3rKdgi7NmJKCypsMMQw

Yeah, to stay informed about things that already happened and everything news worthy (heists, scams, famous people mentioning bitcoin,..) you cover with that. If you want to stay up to date though, you should consider to also look at more recent news sources, like reddit.com/r/bitcoin or the forum.

The Bitcoin subreddit (http://reddit.com/r/Bitcoin) has swelled tremendously in the past few months, to the point where it seems to have more commentary on the more significant news stories than the bitcointalk.org Press forum. Also a better system for judging significance of posts and a better format for debate. Just an overall better user experience in terms of being a one-stop news+analysis site, in my opinion.

Reddit and Bitcointalk are the two best bitcoin news sources imo. Reddit for fast info. Bitcointalk for more detailed discussion.
