A single post in a 14 day period can lead to up to 14 points of activity at a later date. For most members here the activity is capped by these time points that an account gets for beeing active (via posting) in the activity periods. For some members (or accounts) however the number of posts is the limiting factor. Activity is the minimum value of "time" points and posts. Potential activity is the activity an account can reach by just posting.
An example:
You create a new account and post a single post each on the days 1, 15, 29 and 115. The account has posted in 4 different activity periods and has thus 4*14 = 56 time points and a post count of 4. min(56,4) = 4, thus the activity is 4. The potential activity however is 56. It can be reached within a very short amount of time just by posting.
each post you make increase your activity by 1 UNTIL you reach your activity limit/potential.
example. if your current activity is 48 and you have 480 potential activity, you can make 432 posts in the span of 14 days and you'll reach 480 activity. it will stay 480 even if you make 500 posts in that 14 days. (but don't do that or you'll get banned for spam).

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)
Activity is updated every hour.
-----------------------
Let's calculate my account, because i want concrete examples.
I am registered since 6 September 2014 and have been passed 283 days = 40 weeks and 3 days = 20 two-week period
Please correct me if i am doing wrong.
so:
time = 20,
activity = min(20*14, 40 posts),
activity = min(280,40),
activity = 40.
1. So i can post 240 more posts to get the activity = 280 and be Sr. Member?
2. How often should i post to reach Sr. Member?
3. Will i be banned if i make 20 posts/day for 14 days to reach 280 ?
