ChavezCoin is a digital currency with a socialist ideology and an established north; a new economic model for the free world, decentralized e independent from the traditional banking system.

ChavezCoin comes as an opportunity to the Venezuelan people to have a currency traded and accepted worldwide, a new currency that start from scratch and will gain value with the effort and work of all the people involved in the project, where the actions of the governments and banks has no consequences over the value of the coin, making us, the people, the only responsible for the empowering of our economy.

Right now Venezuela is going through a rough patch, with several problems, scarcity, high inflation rates, rampant crime and a problematic currency control that make almost impossible to obtain international currency via legal ways, forcing the people to use the hyperinflated black market, making our currency worthless.

Distribution

The initial number of coins is 8,191,132, it was the total votes that Chavez received in his last presidential campaign. The coins will be distributed like this:

60% of the coins will be handed out to the Venezuelan citizens who register themselves in our website. The coins will be distribuited in 2 batches, the first batch will be July 5 (our independence day) and the sencond July 24 (the birth day of our national hero Simon Bolivar)

10% will distributed via ChavezCoin faucet, this distribution will be different from normal faucets because we will pool the coins collected from the users and we will give them in the 2 prior mentioned batches, to make an even distribution. This faucet is meant to be used by foreign people who belive in our project, spreading the coins to a wider audience.

20% Bounty/rewards fund: because we are aware that we need all the help we can get and also that the work of our supporters must be rewarded, we will use this fund for advertisement, giveaways and developers The address of this fund will be publicly available, and any use of the funds will be notify to the community.

5% Developer fund: This fund will be used for future expenses of the coin like nodes. The address of this fund will be publicly available, and any use of the funds will be notify to the community.

5% Social Help fund: This fund will be created for social aid, scholarships, we truly believe in our project and in the idea of helping those in need. The address of this fund will be publicly available, and any use of the funds will be notify to the community.

Roadmap

We have established 4 stages for the development of our coin:

Promotion
This is the first stage, in this stage we will open the registry for the users, the faucet, various giveaways and contact the local media, in order to reach as much as possible people. Also we will open the bounties for the developers/sites/and businesses interested in take part in this endeavor. Estimated time 1 month

Allocation
In this stage we will distribute the coins. The register and the faucet will be open for about a month and the coins will be delivered in 2 batches, first batch July 5 (Independence day) and July 24 (the birth day of our national hero Simon Bolivar). Estimated time 2 weeks.

Acceptation
After all the coins were distributed, it will be time to reach exchanges and payment gateways, our main goal here is to be listed in several Altcoin exchanges, and let the market establish a referential price for the coin, and to be in at least 1 payment processor, to be able to reach e-commerce owners and convince them to accept ChavezCoin as a payment method. Estimated time 1 month.

Massification
This would be the last stage, an always evolving and endless one. In this stage is where we will be needing the most help from our supporters / associated developers,  to bring to life some ideas that we have and grow the value of our coin. Some of our projects are:
-   Bolivar/CHVZ exchange
-   CHVZ marketplace
-   Expand the quantity of stores accepting CHVZ
-   Android/iOS Wallet
-   Reach brick and mortar stores to accept our coin
-   The creation of social aid/scholarship committee and the use of the fund for social projects.

TLDR or Why you should join ChavezCoin

An even distribution: We are targeting between 10,000 and 100,000 users in a transparent way, (using our national voting register to validate users).

Solving a Necessity: Because Venezuela have a currency exchange issues, we will be helping to solve part of the necessity of a nation with +30M people to obtain international goods.

Great opportunity for merchants: As prior stated, merchants will have a great opportunity for business with at least 10,000 possible buyers in need of goods.

Transparency: We will try to be as transparent as possible, our code will be on a github, all the funds addresses that will be used for bounties, rewards, social aid and development will be publicly available, and any use of the aforementioned coins will be notify to the whole community .

No ICO: We are not after your money/Bitcoins, we will never sell coins, we just saw a problem/need and want to be part of the solution.

I know there has been a TON of shitcoins around, but we just want to help our people

You are right, that is the textbook definition, but we are based on what Hugo Chavez said "Hemos asumido el compromiso de dirigir la Revolución Bolivariana hacia el socialismo y contribuir a la senda del socialismo, un socialismo del siglo XXI que se basa en la solidaridad, en la fraternidad, en el amor, en la libertad y en la igualdad

"We have assumed the commitment to direct the Bolivarian Revolution towards socialism and contribute to the path of socialism, a socialism of the XXI century that is based on solidarity, fraternity, love, freedom and equality"

Yes we are serious about it, the main difference with all the coins is that we will try to have a big base of users, because we are trying to provide a solution to a necessity

Maybe because decentralization is a myth?
That miners effectively operate as a central authority and blockchain consensus is a form of popular vote?

It's hard for any political/social system to be flawless, everything has its own issues, however, I do like and admire what Chavez did when he nationalised Venezuela's oil, unlike most 3rd world countries, Venezuelans are the owners of their natural resources and that's thanks to this guy.

+1 In order to achieve full decentralisation, there can't be pools, exchanges, or any service that "centralises" crypto operations, miners would need to solo mine always and trade 1 on 1 with others, it's a very romantic idea but not really practical.

I'm watching this, I do feel that there is a big "premine" so the distribution of the 20% bounty coins should be transparent somehow

You are right, the concept of full decentralization is very difficult to achieve and not really practical, what we meant is that our coin does not need a central bank to control or rule our coin, so if the government make almost impossible to exchange the local currency (like the current situation in Venezuela) , our coin would not suffer from it.

I'm watching this, I do feel that there is a big "premine" so the distribution of the 20% bounty coins should be transparent somehow

There will be a list of Bounties in which we will be using that 20% of the funds, it will be available soon , every coin spent from this fund will be publicly announced

That is your opinion and we respect that, but we are not here to talk about Chavez, but to talk about ChavezCoin and what could it bring to the people of Venezuela.

Hello guys, first of all we want to say sorry in the name of the project. I know we have been away for almost 2 months but several things happened that held us back. To be honest the project was about to be canceled due to differences between the founding crew, we were 5 people, now we are just 2.

After much thought, we decided to launch the coin, after all, the most difficult part that is the currency itself has been developed and has been working correctly for months, so we have created a simple site to register chavezcoin.org. Also we have changed the original distribution to this:

60% of the coins to the people living in Venezuela
25% of the coins to people outside Venezuela
14% Bounties
1% Developer fund

Coin distribution:
The coin will be distributed in 2 batches, the first batch will be 60% of the allocated coins and the remnant 40% in the second batch. The distribution will be simple, the total allocated coins for each batch will be divided between the registered users in that time frame. i.e

First Bach

Allocated coins

Venezuelans: 2948808 CHVZ
Foreigns: 1228670 CHVZ

Registered users

Venezuelans: 1000
Foreigns: 1000

Coins per user

Venezuelans: 2948,8 CHVZ per user
Foreigns: 1228,6 CHVZ per user

This is just an example , we hope te get more people involved  Wink

Schedule
September 7th: distribution of the first batch of coins to the registered users.
September 21st: Second distribution batch of the coins to the registered users.

Coin distribution process:
On September 7th we will update the site with a download link and the github of the coin wallet. Also we will enable a form to register your address.

Bounties
From the initial coin total (8,191,132) we will be allocating (1,146,758) for bounties, giveaways and promotion. So far we have come up with this numbers , but nothing is carved in stone
