Will update with the clip as soon as I get one.

http://www.bravotv.com/million-dollar-listing

Episode: "Louis 2.0"

Edit:

Holy fucking shit.  It's not like a tiny shout out, but some fuck face made a offer of BTC50,000 on a New York house and they are talking about it.

 Shocked

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

what happened? Is that lower/higher/significantly lower than the USD value of the property? And they did sellers just laugh it off or did they consider it at all?

It was $1 million dollars under their price.

The owners lawyer said they were going to rent it to a friend for $50,000 a month rather than sell.

Mind you it's a TV show.

Still good to have bitcoin on mainstream TV like that.  I reckon if the bid was $1mill over in Bitcoin, it would have been classed as suspicious and probably said to be drug money or something!
This way it just drips into peoples sub-conscious.

It does make sense to offer a little more than the ask price since there's risk involved with bitcoin like volatility and such. There are also problems with being able to change such a large amount into USD in a relatively short period of time.

For an early adopter who get 50k bitcoins by mining on their laptop, it would be a good deal for them to pay a little extra to get a home they could only have dreamt of 5 years ago.

Thanks for the info though.

It would be interesting to see the conversation they had about it, did they understand bitcoin, was it positive etc.  I look forward to the clip, cheers.

Quoted it for future reference. LoL. Although I dont know what the show is about, however, it's always good to see Bitcoin being mentioned in TV or show. Bitcoin already have many bad reputation from TVs and shows last year. Hopfully this year will be a better year for Bitcoin to 'promote' itself in TVs and shows.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!

Great news  Grin As I always say every little bit of exposure is fantastic. Bitcoin seems to get a mention on mainstream TV fairly regularly now. If you think back to 2 years ago we've come so far exposure wise. If this keeps happening for the next few years who knows where we'll be.
Like I said it's a small bit of publicity but eventually it'll mean we start going places, average joe will end up using bitcoin & then it's moon time further down the line.

This is really great.  We are seeing bitcoins seeping into the public eye more and more.  I think it will still be some few years for more adoption but it is coming.  Bitcoin is dead again, long live bitcoin!

Nice to see Bitcoin get some publicity. Hopefully this segment of the TV show got some people curious about what bitcoin is and maybe it got some people to search it up and check it out.
