To celebrate the upcoming 199,000th block which will occur in less than 48 hours, we will run a bidding contest.
Send any amount which is a multiple of 0.1 BTC to this address:

199KqozwVRMNhYGnVx3g5EkiGAzRwWnM4c

and when the 199,000th block is published, we will choose one winner, the lowest unique bid. The prize will be the total bids sent less 2% as our rake.

All entries must be a multiple of 0.1 BTC. An entry of 0.10001 or 0.1999999 will still be considered as 0.1. Only one digit after the decimal point will be considered.

All entries sent after the 199,000th block will be considered as invalid and will be treated as a donation. It will not be included in the prize pool.

The minimum bid is 0.1 BTC, there is no maximum bid.
If there are two bids of the same amount, neither bids can win.
Example: if we receive bids of 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.3, 0.2,  0.1, and 1.2 then the bid of 0.5 wins. 0.1 and 0.2 are lower, but both occur multiple times. 0.5, 1.3, 1.2 are all unique but the lowest is 0.5 so it wins.
The winning bid must be the lowest unique bid up to and including the 199,000th block.

If the total prize pool is less than 199BTC, we will add coins so that the winner will get 199BTC.

Please post your questions or clarifications. Good luck. Remember this is a strategy game.

We don't have time to automate this so the winner will be verified manually and will be sent the winnings shortly after the 199,000th block is published. Our official data source will still be blockexplorer.com.

The first input address of the send transaction will be used to send the winnings.
You can make multiple sends in one transaction. Each send/output will be treated as a single bet.

If there are two bids of the same amount, both bids can not win.

I think a less ambiguous way of saying what you mean is:

"If there are two bids of the same amount, neither bids can win."

It might help to give an example:

"If we receive bids of 0.1 0.2 0.5 0.1 0.7 0.2 and 1.2 then the bid of 0.5 wins.  0.1 and 0.2 are lower, but both occur multiple times.  0.5 is the lowest *unique* bid".

199BTC minimum prize pot? Thats a mighty big prize pot, especially if you only get 20BTC in bets from people.

Also, because people can publicly see all the bets that go to that address, its not the fairest of raffles/bets. It's like playing one of those count the pennies in the jar games and being able to physically count the pennies...?

Anyway, I may have a go... but I'll wait until just before the 199,000th block and then I can see everyone else's bets Smiley

I don't get how this is supposed to work. Which is probably why I've never broken the mid 130's on an IQ test.

I've used his HungerCoins Invest and Poker funds... both paid the interest after the allotted times. As for whether he is good for a 199BTC jackpot... who knows, perhaps this is final get out pot with his other schemes, perhaps he is genuine? It's your call...

Haha, this is so nice. Basically in order to win you need to double all previous transactions and have a minimum unique one before the 199k block.
So, imagine of only 2 players compete, each one have to send the other's player transaction (same amount) and unique "previous+0.1" in order to win. So it would look like:
A: 0.1
B: 0.1 - annihilates uniqueness
B: 0.2 - is lowest unique.
Just within first step with 2 players we get 0.4btc.
A: 0.2
B: 0.3
A: 0.3
A: 0.4
With second it's now. 0.4btc+1.2btc. Unless no one else sends extra "losing" or invalid coins.
Code:
$ prize=0; i=0; x=22; while (( $i < $x )); do prize=`echo "(0.1 + ($i * 0.2 ))*4+$prize" | bc`; let i=i+1; done; echo $prize;
> 193.6
He needs a bit less, than 100 (less than 23*4) transactions to not add own coins for winner's prize (considering 2% rake). Smiley
edit: math above was fixed, though not like anyone cared at all.

If I make a transaction with 2 outputs, one of 0.1 and one of 0.2, both to the bet address, does that count as two entries (0.1 and 0.2) or one entry of 0.3?

It would be better (from a spam reduction point of view) if you treated it as 2 bets.  Then I can make 2 bets with one transaction and not pollute the blockchain quite so much.

I don't get how this is supposed to work. Which is probably why I've never broken the mid 130's on an IQ test.

It's quite simple.  The winner is whoever sends the lowest amount that nobody else sent.  So if you send 0.1, you win, unless somebody else also sends 0.1.  It could be that all the amounts from 0.1 up to 10.0 are sent multiple times, and the winning bet was 10.1, because there was only one bet of 10.1.

It is equivalent to a dollar auction really. It would be more interesting if the bets were private, but you'd still have to trust the operator a lot since you won't even know after the fact if you've been ripped off.

Thanks everyone for the input. I will edit the original post shortly for more clarity. I will also start another thread for a micro version of this game where the bets are multiples of 0.01 btc and the guaranteed prize is 19.9BTC.

Yes it will be treated as 2 bets of 0.1 and 0.2. Also updated original post.

Remember, if you wait too long, your bet might not make it through the 199,000th block so you risk of losing it. All bets after 199,000th block will be treated as a donation.

So I seem to recall you saying the short term loan is used to stake someone for gambling? I am on a phone so I can't go looking now but who is the person you stake if that is correct?

Are you going to pay 199btc to the guy who sent ya 0.1btc? Cheesy
http://blockchain.info/address/199KqozwVRMNhYGnVx3g5EkiGAzRwWnM4c

edit: the game ends within 14 hours. This is also kinda flawed since you can just send like 20 bids (0.2,0.3,0.4 etc, and hope noone else does that) before 199K block and it will cost you 40btc to win 199btc. (also don't forget to negate 0.1's guy) Cheesy

If i was running this game (and had a service where people send their coins aka laundry) I would just double every unique bet before 199K block automaticly somehow. Cheesy

Yes I will. But I doubt you will let that happen. Smiley You can't resist beating that 0.1 bet before 199k. I know many are just waiting on the last few blocks to bet.

I don't believe this game is flawed.
