State Department report: ISIS breaking new ground as new leader in terror groups

Washington (CNN)In the eyes of the State Department, ISIS is beating al Qaeda at being the world's leading terrorist group.

The "unprecedented" spread and brutality of ISIS, its strength in recruiting foreign fighters, messaging and its ability inspire lone wolf attacks have helped the group supplant al Qaeda as the leading global terrorist group, said the State Department's annual terrorism report. The report says both are adapting their tactics in ways which are more brutal and harder to trace.

"The prominence of the threat one posed by core al Qaeda diminished in 2014," the report found. In addition to significant losses of its core leadership in Afghanistan and Pakistan, it noted that "AQ leadership also appeared to lose momentum as the self-styled leader of a global movement in the face of ISIL's rapid expansion and proclamation of a Caliphate."

The number of terrorist attacks in 2014 increased 35% over the previous year, but were more heavily concentrated in a handful of countries. More than 60% of all attacks took place in five countries — Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Nigeria — according to the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland, which compiles statistics on worldwide terrorism.

The only reason they are such a formidable force is because they got their hands on or were given easy access to US weaponry. Not to mention, certain dictators have been toppled allowing them access to training grounds and populations to conquer.

Whatever they do ISIS will never succeed, they will rot like rats and fall into the pit they themselves digged.

Taliban , Al Qaeda then ISIS . All of them has been created entirely or mostly by the intelligence of USA & Israel (CIA & mossad) . (maybe not from the beggining for what comes to Al Qaeda & Taliban but later) . For those who ask for prooves pretty sure you can find leaked documents by Snowden from NSA around the internet . also Wiki leaks should do the job too
Once ISIS dissapear like Al Qaeda & Taliban , CIA & mossal will make sure to create another one etc ... It will never end .

This just proves that you really can't control the monsters you creaste.
Yet, different governments go ahead and fund these groups.

"different" governments? In 99% of the cases, these groups were created by the United States and its NATO allies. This practice started in the early 1980s, in the Afghanistan. The Americans funded a group of radical Islamists to fight the Soviet forces in Afghanistan. After the Soviets left Afghanistan, some of the factions transformed itself in to the Taliban, which is the predecessor to the Al Qaeda. This process was repeated in Syria, Iraq, and Libya. And this is currently ongoing in countries such as Macedonia and Lebanon.

It all depends on oil and gas. In most of the cases, they invaded the countries to take away their oil deposits (Iraq, Libya.etc). Most of the oil fields in Iraq and Libya are now being controlled by the American corporations. With Afghanistan, the intention was something else. Afghanistan is the no.1 producer of opium poppy, which is used to manufacture heroin. The Americans are encouraging opium production in Afghanistan, and exporting the same to Russia and Iran. As a result a large part of the younger generation has become drug addicts in these nations.

It's sad people go to this extent for money. I guess we should make people remember 5th of November. Wink
