Hey

I have an Intel atom N450 laptop.

I use it as my offline computer for running armory.

I has Windows 7 32 bit installed. and since it only has 1GB of RAM, im not able to upgrade it to 64 bit.

My online laptop runs armory smooth. It runs with Windows 8 64 bit.

Why cant i transfer armory to my offline laptop? I use a 8Gb usb stick..

I get an error saying armory cant run 32bit..

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Use 0.92.x for x86 machines. 0.94 will bring back x86 compatibility.

Hello. 0.94 isn't out yet, although we hope to have an official test build available very soon.

As for online/offline compatibility, 0.92 and 0.93 are fine in that regard. You can have 0.92 on your offline machine and it'll work fine.

Hey,

Thanks for sharing dude!! Smiley

I need that info badly, cant wait to get started with armory!

I seem to encounter a (bit) problem tho. My offline laptop might not be able to run armory..

U see my offline laptop run's Windows 7 32 bit. And no matter what i do, im not able to install it. Is getting the 94.x update really the only way to go?

 Huh

Yes, 0.93 broke 32-bit compatibility on Windows. You'll need to revert to 0.92 or wait for 0.94. If you're really adventurous and know how to compile code, you can roll your own version. AFAIK, the latest version of the code is what will get released as a test build soon, or is really close.

I am also forced to install 0.92.3 as my offline XP computer will only run 32 bit apps (attempting to "easily install in an old laptop I have lying around").

However, when I run the program, I get the following dialog box:

C:\ProgramFiles\Armory\ArmoryQt.exe
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Needless to say, reinstalling the application does not fix the problem ... any hints about what I might try?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The Armory 0.93+ client uses LMDB database engine.
This library maps entire DB to the virtual address space.
That is why database size is limited on 32-bit systems.
Real unfragmented block of 32-bit virtual space is usually 200..500 MB.

32-bit and 64-bit  LMDB databases have incompatible file formats.
