Depending on the exchange you use they might do this for you. For example Poloniex shows profit/ loss. Typically it's: Cost of BUY - Cost of SELL - Fees = Profit / Loss BTW: Welcome to your new daily addiction

i think correct formula is: Cost of SELL - Cost of BUY - Fees = Profit / Loss for ex: Buy 1000DOGE @75sat cost of buy is 75000sat Sell 1000DOGE @80sat cost of sell is 80000sat and a 0,2% fee is 160sat if we use "Cost of BUY - Cost of SELL - Fees = Profit / Loss" 75000 - 80000 - 160 = -5160sat but if we use "Cost of SELL - Cost of BUY - Fees = Profit / Loss" formula; 80000 - 75000 - 160 = 4840sat Profit if we Sell 1000DOGE @70sat cost of sell is 70000sat and a 0,2% fee is 140sat and with same formula; 70000 - 75000 - 140 = -5140sat Loss

Good catch!

keep in mind that you have to pay fees twice once when you buy and once when you sell. in other words you pay fees on every trade you make.
with 0.2% fee Buy 1000DOGE @75sat cost of buy is 75000sat -----> you pay 150 satoshi fee Sell 1000DOGE @80sat cost of sell is 80000sat -----> you pay 160 satoshi fee
79840 - 75150 = you will get 4690 satoshi profit

Why go into so much detail, why don't simple calculate the amount of BTC you went in with into a trade and calculate the amount of BTC you got out with it. For ex.
You bought altcoins worth 0.05 BTC, you kept it for a while and it went up, you sold it and then it showed in your balance you have 0.055 BTC, so there's your profit 0.005 BTC after subtracting everything, you still have to pay the TX fee when you withdraw the BTC from the exchange but it's still simple that way.

You should calculate your profit *before* you trade or you may not get any profit. This is the normal way.

But do not think Price will always go up it can Down also So Big investment = Big profit / Big loss In trading line their is risk but without you take any risk you cannot get profit in your life In simple words - profit = income minus expenses you made to get this income loss = when the profit is negative its called loss.

If you bought something for 5 and the price at a later point is 10, then it is *already* calculated that you're in profit, if you sell it then what you get in access is profit. Simple as that. And if you use an exchange, it is already shown on the sell order after deducting all the fee.

If you're new for trading calculation, just be more precise for calculating mostly decimal value. But you will get habitual if you keep calculated it everytime. Math is basic for calculate this. Be grateful because you've lucky to learn this lesson

it depends on what exchange you use. i don't think there's a fixed formula for it! But it works good
Good luck

You should use a spreadsheet to keep track of your total holdings and the average cost of each coin you hold. It is easy to calculate profit if you buy and sell at equal amounts, it gets tricky when you buy and sell in batches.
