Have you tried approaching the btc currency exchanges to offer your services as a white hat hacker, who tests their site for vulnerabilities?
After all these places seem to be getting hacked all the time, if you could get them to vouch for you, ensure they are more secure, it would add to your credibility.

It is doubtfull he has any real insight into security.
Offering 2hr lessons over skype means he teaches people how to use some script kiddie tools.
Knowing how to operate some pre-fab tools doesn't make you a hacker or a security specialist.
If you can dump a SQL database through a security leak on a webpage that doesn't mean you can install the actual SQL server and make it secure.
Hes claiming he will teach people to become 'qualified' and 'professional' 'ethical' 'hackers'.
Those 4 words combined with what he's offering tells me he propably has no skills.
Look at it as mostly entertainment and see how the script kiddies operate.

And anyway, if he was good enough to do information security he wouldn't be offering courses for kiddie alowance.

I'm sure step 1 of his program is "Download BackTrack 5"...

Just because I am a games programmer (C++, various game engines), web developer and server admin, doesn't mean when I go out of my way to consult and tutor someone it's to do the same high end stuff I do. It took me years to learn all this, some at university, most self-taught.

More often than not, it's the simple stuff, like how to use wordpress or fixing bugs with their computer, why? it's stuff I can do in under a hour.
Now I got my business running, sure people make use of my skills I have, but I don't share the what and the how. They pay for the results I provide.
All too often, it's too time consuming to teach people what I actually do (at least for a reasonable price).
The simple stuff I can do quick and earn something in return more reliably.

I only have one apprentice who is actively learning my trade directly from me and yes it does take a lot of my time to do this.

No I don't know if what n00dle's skill level is, I've just taken it upon myself to play devils advocate for someone who is actually trying to provide a service. He's already done this as an artist, provided a good, but low volume service from what I can tell, always hard for an artist unfortunally.

I'm not vouching for him, just asking do you have any proof yet he's not capable of what he's selling? No?
Having a tutor who works with your directly 1-1 is far better than self-taught most the time. His price are cheap imho and if his artwork is anything to go by he at least has some skills.
Everyone does have to start somewhere, so it helps if you don't crap on these threads until you have proof it's bad news.

If more website owners are aware of their vulnerabilities, it's up to them to fix it. It's another matter entirely if they ask n00dle is to fix it for them.
However If I was him, I wouldn't put myself in the position to be responsible to fix it, you'd be held to blame if it got hacked still. Best to avoid that unless you really confident in it's security. It be too easy to make n00dle a scapegoat.

DDoS training and ethical? Shocked Huh  Cheesy

I hereby offer 0.1 BTC bounty for best meme on "ethical DDoS" topic. Deadline : end of this week.

It's not hard when you look into how many white hat hackers are employed to test their own employers systems.
Knowledge of how it's done, helps in the prevention against those who will use it maliciously.

While you can learn how to do DDoS, it won't help you at all to know how to survive it. The ad says: Learn to set up and use botnet or huge networks for their own interest to take down websites and servers. It says nothing about learning DDoS mitigation practices. These are two very different problems, the latter much harder one!

True, it takes time to practice and learn how to prevent, but without those first steps of how it's done, one can not do one reliably without the other.
I learnt how to prevent them that way, since I know how to all of those myself. It's been a while, since I've put them in to practice, I'm probably rusty.
