So for awhile I've been wondering what niche I could find that would benefit from using Bitcoin, and I figured out that the furry community is a right candidate. So I got to work and created an online store for sale of digital goods. If anyone wants to have a look, the early beta is available here:
furstore.appspot.com
I'm generally aiming to be selling artwork, comics and the like, but the code could be modified to suit basically anything (if you'd like to see some specific store, let me know).
The page and server is coded in Google Go and running on Google App Engine, with a bitcoind instance running on an external server.

Im just wondering what market research you did that led you to the conclusion that there are lots of furries involved in bitcoin  Ive seen a few my little pony avatars here so maybe a store dedicated to that would be good too. |

I'm not claiming that a lot of furries are involved in Bitcoin (as I searched for "bitcoin" and "furry" together, only one post came up as related on this forum that I could see). However, as furries enjoy their more adult content and PayPal and the lot frowns on such things, it could have a potential. Especially if I'd try to make it internationally appealing - both by selling things anywhere around the world, and letting international artists to create and sell their works.

Best part of the FAQ You are providing DRM materials? What stops me from just pirating it?
Nothing really. We know that piracy is very convenient and offers a competetive price (can't really beat free, now can we?), but in the end it's not really about that, now is it? Our materials are DRM free, because we know DRM doesn't work and just hinders honest people. This website is a means of telling the artist you love that you care about their work and wish for them to do more. If you like a comic but decide to pirate it, its creator might not make another one. If you buy it, you're giving incentives for producing more. We are just doing our best to be as convenient for you as possible, so you will choose us instead of piracy and support the artists. Let's put use those bitcoins to good use, arrr.
