If I want to buy new hardware for mining at your pool what do you suggest?

This all depends on the price of hardware that you can get and how many percent speed it'll show.
If you can get a cheap R9 280X, that might be the best option. It is about 84.5% non-overclocked and I think you can go as high as 90% with overclocking.
R9 290 is 100%, R9 390 is about 104%.
R9 290X is around 112%, but usually a lot more expensive than R9 290 and not worth the extra 12% of speed.
R9 270X is around 50%.
Also there are R9 380X which are pretty cheap and may be the best option judging by the specification, but I haven't tested it myself. Perhaps some users have this card and can share their results?
I would not recommend getting the old cards, like below 7950. They are too slow.
Also I think the Fury cards are too expensive and it would be hard to ROI with them and sell them later for a good price.
Divide the price of the GPU by the speed and find the best option.
