If I build a miner running Windows, would I be able to use the computer to do your normal internet/email type functions while the GPUs run in the background?

Thinking about getting into mining and I'm trying to justify it. My main comp (an older laptop) has been intermittently overheating. Instead of trying to fix it, I'm thinking about buying a new comp. If I build it and stick a few GPUs in it, could I set them to mine while I did my work routine?

What if I wanted to play a quick game of Starcraft?

Yup, that's what I do.

I have two dedicated mining rigs running at 950MH/s each. Then I have my gaming computer that's constantly mining bringing in around 400MH/s. I turn off GUIminer when I play games, but turn it back on when I am done. Have it running right now while I type this.
