I just saw this headline about bitcoin: "With Greek Uncertainty, Investors Seek Safety in Gold and Bitcoin" That is the actual headline! Now bitcoin is "safe", and the WSJ it a heavy hitter in the investment press. I am sorry the article is behind a paywall, but I think this is the best headline I have ever seen for bitcoins. The FUD news seems to be in the rear view mirror

Yeah, that was a nice mainstream perception that they sent out to other investors. Putting the word safe along side bitcoin in such a prominent site that those with money most likely pay attention is pretty priceless and the right timing for it.

The URL reads http://www.wsj.com/articles/with-greek-uncertainty-investors-seek-safety-in-gold-and-even-bitcoin-1435705212 "Even Bitcoin" doesn't sound positive, it sounds desperate.

WSJ is probably a little scared to see themselves associated with crypto currencies. But the WSJ should know more than anybody else what is going on with the worldwide currency wars.
Watching those people line up to those ATM machines should put a scare into people worldwide. It wasn't long ago bond were considered "cash". I no longer consider them cash.

The "Age of Cryptocurrency" book written recently by two WSJ reporters has a relatively favorable opinion of BTC. Their colleagues might well have gotten their first impression of BTC through that book.

The fact that they mention Bitcoin next to gold as a safe haven to protect their money, is already positive. I would not worry too much about the "even" added a bit later. I wonder how many people can afford to invest anything in a country where everything are falling apart. The referendum will be the major determination of their final destination. This would have a ripple affect and some severe influence on other developing countries and their currencies. In a global view, the collapse of one little brick, would weaken the strength of the whole wall. I hope a lot of people will share their view.

This is great to see, and indeed- in times of worldwide financial uncertainty with the current fiat systems in place is when Bitcoin truly shines and outperforms. On a side note, the Wall Street Journal has always been my favorite newspaper to read; so much good content on a wide variety of topics.
Also, I hope all of the prepper-types who stack silver and gold to preserve their wealth against declining Dollar values see this headline and realize they should also have some Bitcoin holdings to fully diversify and protect their wealth. If every silver and gold stacker out there bought 1 Bitcoin to add to their "stack," then there would be a sure-fire increase in Bitcoin price.
Edit for disclosure: I did not read this article

Really makes a case for bitcoin. those who understand bitcoin would have bought it way before now. there should be an explaining video in greek language to explain them what bitcoin is and what it is capable of.

When I read such news in infamous Wall Street Journal about Bitcoin, I am goose pumped, and it gives me good feelings that those who have had faith in Bitcoin, they will get the good fortunes what they deserved, Thumbs up to this world class Bitcoin digital currency.

On its own this article in the WSJ won't do much but all positive publicity is good, I'm not going to moan after some of the bad press we've had over the last year or so. It is a little frustrating in the sense that we're here and ready for mainstream adoption now. Where is the influx of new money, new investors? I have patience but the next leg up of BTC adoption needs to happen, where is it going to come from?

This is very good news. The mere fact that bitcoin is mentioned as a possible alternative is already a major change from articles of a year or two ago where almost every article written about bitcoin had some or other negative content.
The more the word 'bitcoin' appears in the press the better. Eventually even the most unenlightened will do a search to see what all this 'bitcoin' is about.

This is awesome news, great to know that people are emerging now to realize about the value and worth of Bitcoin Digital currency methods, my another concern is that, will these stream just wave in the event of crisis or will they bring the crypto currencies into real adoption. I would like to see any news regards to Bitcoin as a long term solutions rather than short term.

Lots of people pay to get sponsored articles that look a lot like real articles posted in major online newspapers. I remember the Quark people doing it to raise their profile in 2013

I've seen the WSJ addressing Bitcoin in a positive way before in several occasions. Im pretty sure they've decided this is legit and they don't want to be remembered in history as the idiots that bashed Bitcoin until the evidence was way too much to keep staying in denial.

it is somehow sad that we need all those exposures, to increase by few cents, when in the past with a simple manipulation, bitcoin was touching figures with 3 digits
the good news are not well reflected in the market, if they were, at present, bitcoin should be around 500-1k
