Satoshi absolutely keeps up with the Bitcoin community. Not only did the man invent arguably the most important invention of the century, but he is also estimated to own over 1 million BTC. He may not be an active poster, but he certainly checks up on his users from time to time.

He must be dead, not at all motivated by money, or .... very very clever and foreseeing the potential of blockchain technology and bitcoin.

If it's the latter - he will not sell until the price is right. Apparently the $1300 is not the magic number.

Who knows what that would be... but if some of the suspected accounts start selling then many will start selling I guess. Apparently we have not be close yet.

No doubt in my mind he browses these forums. Frankly speaking, why wouldn't he? It's his creation being discussed by hundreds of thousands on a particular forum. He probably does so under a completely private account revealing to no one his identity of Satoshi to avoid any attention. I could only assume him abandoning his original account due to hacking attempts that will probably be made if he were to ever return.

yeah, i agree that this is very well possible and most likely true.
it is logical to assume that the person who created bitcoin would stick around in the most popular bitcoin forum and help out. especially since he wants to stay anonymous, you can assume that he had created a now account back then.

Read more on the topic on why he actually wen't "dark", and you will see that your idea doesn't make sense.
afaik, he is not searching for money or fame, so using another account would give him anonymity and enable him to continue participating in the project.

it is still strange how he disappeared after his last post pointed out that there are still some fix to be done

he left us with this "There's more work to do on DoS, but I'm doing a quick build of what I have so far in case it's needed, before venturing into more complex ideas.  The build for this is version 0.3.19."

so it is possible that he changed account bitcoin he was holding a fortune by than when the price rised, but he still working on bitcoin, maybe helping one of the dev...without revealing anything

Satoshi appears to be a methodical, no BS type of guy, I doubt a guy like him would be able to easily conceal the way his mind works. Anyway I somehow don't think he's the type that would resort to deceit tactics to reach his goal. That's just my impression though.

Yes, he is. I doubt if that account has been used by him for years tho. IIRC, there was one login to say he wasn't Dorian, but we don't know if that was actually him.

If you look at the history of digital money starting in the 80's, you'll see a common theme. They were all squashed by government intervention (mostly USA). The founders often ended up in jail.
Satoshi would have known this, and obviously wanted to be safe while these thugs had an incentive to make a spectacle of him in an attempt to kill bitcoin. Sooner or later, I think that time will be over, but even then he's a big target for thieves with rubber hoses, ransom demands, etc. If I were him, i'd want to mix my coins before coming out of hiding, but then I'd be affecting the ecosystem/price. Tough decision.

He wasn't much of a coder, so couldn't contribute much code once professional coders got involved. His expertise was in the incentive area, but if he posts anything up to his standard in that area he'd be outed pretty quick, so he stays silent ... err ... until recently maybe

I think it's obvious he'd keep tabs on bitcoin, so he'd have unconnected accounts for reading purposes.

I still thing Satoshi is a group of people and many of them are still hanging around here.

Imagine if it was later revealed and you were one of the users who went into a flame war with one of the original members of the Satoshi gang on something technical on a thread on this forum.

It would create a real chuckle amongst them, if that happened.
